I may be in a bit of a 'Monday fog' this morning, but TFA's headline had me envisioning eating some sort of frozen pastry dough concoction. I've never used frozen pastry dough.

...and by that I mean you take some fresh pastry dough, add what you want, freeze it and eat once pulled from the freezer.

Well I'm disappointed that this isn't about THC laden barbeque.

Laminating pastry dough can be a big pain in the ass so buying frozen pastry dough is a huge time saver, especially if you're already busy cooking other things. As the article hints at, the easiest thing to do is spread some apricot jam or caramelized onions over a wheel of brie, wrap it in pastry dough, and bake till it's puffy and golden brown. Huge payoff for very little work.

Puff pastry dough also makes great top crust for pot pies. Make your filling, put in baking dishes, and cover with the pastry. Cut a slit to let steam escape and bake as usual.

I don't like frozen pie crust pastry dough but I use frozen puff pastry a lot.

Somewhere there is a "Is it a taco?" joke. But it's not a very good one. So, there isn't.
