I for one am shocked that they managed to include ten albums that are actually in the classic rock genre.

Not a bad list, actually. I would also accept Sticky Fingers for the Rolling Stones album.

The debut albums from The Cars and The Pretenders could also be on the list.

Tom Sayer, to me, is like Hotel California is for a lot of people: Great when it came out, I could never hear it again and be fine.

Not a fan of Vital Signs (I get that they were listening to The Police and The Beat but if there's one band not built for reggae it's Rush) but the rest of MP is fantastic.

I dunno about giving Zepplin two spots on the list, seems a little short sited.  Also, I'd go 1984 for Van Halen, for I'll Wait alone.

Who's Next?

As was mentioned up above, there are songs on some of the albums, that while absolutely great (Stairway, Tom Sawyer, etc), were/are so massively overplayed that I'm fine with never hearing them again.  So that makes some of those albums tough/exasperating to listen to.

Pretty decent list for a clickbait article.

The beat in Vital Signs is so white it makes Clapton's version of I Shot the Sheriff sound dangerous.

100% agree. to me its the best stooges album.  I bought it when i was a kid in the 90s picking out all the 1 cent CD's i could get in a columbia house deal, had never heard them before.  Only knew that they were an influence on the ramones.

I still listen to it 25 years later; its such a primal album.

Maxwell is kind of a fun little song. Mr. Mustard as itself? Meh... As part of the medley? Fark yeah!

Yeah, the title track has been overplayed.  (So have the signature tracks from every album in TFA.)  And it's not even the best song on the album -- it's probably fourth or fifth best.

The more interesting question is "Is 'Meeting Across The River' a skip?"  For some people, it's probably a yes -- it's a weird, subdued piano-and-trumpet composition with semi-spoken first-person plural lyrics about some people who are probably about to get in over their heads on what is likely a drug deal.   It's a bit out of character for an album that's full of anthemic, fist-pumping rock.  But I'll defend it to anyone.  It pairs nicely with the last track, "Jungleland."  It's easy to imagine the two songs are connected, with the Magic Rat hyping himself up in "Meeting," only to have the deal go fatally bad in "Jungleland."

There are so many albums that I love every track of it would almost be a shorter list of albums where I would want to skip tracks.
