"Whether it is using blatant coercion or threatening to monitor your bank accounts for transactions over $600...."

If anyone's head cocked at this, there is an effort to stop the extremely rich from hiding money across dozens of bank accounts and obscuring the trail. Because these idiots are idiots they were convinced the IRS would be notified if they spent $600 on a knock off purse to impress the gals.

F*ck these people are useless.

Yeah, this is a common sense solution to the modern problem of the wealthy using the banking system to game the IRS and the GOP is screaming that they are monitoring YOUR spending when in reality it's just compiling the aggregate data of how much goes in and how much comes out.

As usual, they are lying in order to rile up their base of gullible assholes.

I know folks in NH (one used to be married to a cousin) who participate in protest parades against mandates of all sorts.  When I ask which sorts of mandates they're opposed to, it's all of them.

They don't want the government to tell them they have to wear a mask or get a shot, but they also don't want private parties like shopkeepers to be allowed to require masks, or require employees to get shots.

I think they haven't yet realized they're simultaneously opposing government mandates on themselves while demanding government mandates on others...

It's stupid because as an ordinary person, the IRS already gets my W-2s and my 1099s. Banks already monitor for money laundering activity. You can't buy anything worth more than $10k in cash without a tax affidavit.

Ordinary people don't have the capital and assets to leverage these types of wealth hiding schemes, yet the rich have convinced a segment of this population it will be monitored by the IRS.

Look, I'm running out of withered bats and mummified frogs. You're going to have to set up your own altar and start doing your own sacrifices.

Any obsidian slab will do, you just need a big enough shell to contain the blood and incense when you make the offering. Try not to drip quetzal fat on the floor, it's very sticky.

And enough to kill 700,000+ people with COVID. And enough for there to be 74 million of them voting for Mango Mussolini, and to get people like concern troll Collins reelected to the Senate.

These assholes took over the NH legislature through nefarious means. My own rep moved  to NH about five years ago from Ct. where her twerp husband had made a bundle as a middle mang in a big Insurance Co in Hartford.
They are both "FreeStaters who don't know shiat about this state. They wear big sidearms into the General Store, and think they're bad asses. My town tends to keep its firearms out of sight because there are enough nutcases that even gun enthusiasts know it's probably not a good idea to walk around armed. NOT these assholes.

Anyway she ran for the leg. with the help of AFP and Norquist's Tax group. She/they are now targeting GOPers who aren't sufficiently loyal to The Cult Leader. They demand Sununu step down. These are his own people.

Fark free staters, Fark the NH GQP, and Fark Sununu for trying to placate them while still being a NE Republican.
They should all rot in Hell

They are children. Their entire point of view on everything is that they get to do whatever they want, and if what someone else wants to do (even with their own stuff) conflicts with what they want, then said someone else isn't allowed to do that thing and the government must enforce it.

I mean, these same people protested last week and got the NH executive council to vote to reject $27 million in badly needed healthcare funding - that their own party's governor was begging them to vote for - because of a "vaccine mandate" that wasn't even attached to the funding in any way. Their own party's Governor and their speaker of the state house both said that there were no mandates attached, and the bill itself said there were none. NH has no mandates or lockdowns literally anywhere, and they did it anyway.
