I can see Trump being arrested as some sort of tipping point for the cultists to try to save him from jail. They won't succeed of course but Two Scoops, his family will claim it's a stitich up the entire way and the true believers and the cultists will follow suit. Think Jan 6th even more hectic and rioty.

Mugato: he's not above the law.

Yes he is.

I'm afraid that there is the answer.

Republicans and Democrats both seem to be in agreement that if you hold the President to the law, it will prevent other Presidents from effectively doing their job.

The rationale seems to be that Presidents need some wiggle room, some grey areas in which to work.  And if they don't have that flexibility, they can't be as effective as they need to be.
The other rationale is that going after the President destroys the integrity of the office.

Yeah.  That is what they say.  But, see, I can wreck both of those arguments in one single sentence:

We do NOT need the President to be a criminal in order to be effective, and allowing them to do so wrecks the integrity of the office.

Why don't they understand that?
Actually, they do.  It's just that if they hold the President accountable, the shiat will roll downhill all over them and their nice houses, real estate, stocks, and other investments.  And we can't have that.

So.  In short.  The President is absolutely above the law.  Deal with it.

I wonder how many people who voted for Biden in 2020 only wanted one thing from him: To see Trump and his cronies brought to justice.

I wonder how those same voters are going to respond to Biden's complete lack of interest in doing anything like that in 2024.

Just received the lowest score because no matter what he does, the press will always find ways to make it look like he is doing a lousy, stupid job.

I swear, he could cure cancer, and the press would blame him for creating cancer, and then not curing it sooner.

There is a huge difference. And the fault is still 100% on the Rs. Blame them.

The Dems are not actually in power. Blame the red states for that. Not one R will put the country before the party. Not one. In the old days a few would support Dem actions.
Stop blaming the Dems for the obstructive behavior of the Rs.

Doing nothing to punish Manchin and Sinema for opposing Democratic Party policies will just cause voters to stay home in 2022, feeling their vote to accomplish better does nothing; and they didn't vote for stagnation when they can't afford their healthcare, are underpaid and overworked by their job, and (if near the coasts) migh

Reporting on the lousy job Biden is doing is not unfair.

Let's take his botched Afghanistan withdrawal as an example, for which he suffered in approval polls.

He declared the evacuation would be "secure and orderly" and claimed "the likelihood there's going to be the Taliban overrunning everything and owning teh whole country is highly unlikely". He was wrong on all counts.

Is it unfair for the press to report on this? Is it wrong for them to point out that energy prices, inflation and crime are worse under the Biden Administration? At what point will Biden's approval be linked to his performance  instead of an unfair press?

Misleading and taken out of context.

Trump was referring only to the test kits after an NBC reporter asked him whether he takes responsibility for the lag in making Covid test kits available. You can see the exchange with context here.

Your image has been widely spread so I don't blame you for being clueless about the entire exchange.

Correct. Current count is 50 R, 48 D, 2 I (who caucus with the Ds), plus the VP (D, but only comes into play when there is a tie).  There is no actual Senate majority right now, but procedurally Dems win in a tie.

You just want to gaslight in order to deflect from any lack of action on the Democratic Party when they have a majority and were promising us some things would happen if we voted them in. Now that those things haven't happened after we voted the Democratic Party into a numerical majority, you want us to attack Republicans who we already attack but we already also KNOW they're already opposed to everything Democratic Party endorsed. Unfortunately Democratic Party Committee seems not to have gotten that message by watering down their own bills in the continued failed hope to get Republican Party "compromise" on any bill that isn't just another handout to the ultra wealthy.

The COVID relief bill passed through the House and Senate with every singe Republican voting against it, but it's vitally important to say now that Democrats don't have majorities.

I guess it's easier to lie about the reality that Democrats control Congress than it is to admit you're happy about Democrats using that control to do fark-all to help people and save the planet.

Just because Democrats have decided to do nothing, that doesn't mean they have no power. It just means they don't want to use their power to benefit the nation, they'd rather benefit their donors.
