All Manchin's gotta do is tell his constituents that Bernie's socialist agenda will cost them their jobs and they'll all get scared and vote for him and Republicans again downballot.

It's so tiring trying to make any progress with liars and conmen standing on our toes.

Bernie should go on a town hall tour of WV about the benefits of the $3.5T bill and what is at stake of being cut.

It's at best a 2. Manchin fumes because he's obligated to say something on his twitter account. Oh, the woe to have to say anything at all.

If you really want to change behavior you need greater than or equal to a 4.

Agreed. Even if shaming them won't work, making public all the bribes they take to screw over Americans would be a worthwhile endeavor

He is a Democrat. And you have to deal with that.

Because when you vocally announce that you're abandoning any kind of standard or vetting whatsoever in pursuit of a pure numbers game (while decrying anyone who thinks standards are good as having "purity tests") you are signaling to the world that assholes, robber barons, and saboteurs are 100% welcome as long as they are "blue."

I've never understood how that would make any sense. If he was a Republican why would he give the Democrats control of the house? He could switch sides any time and them back in control. What advantage is there to pretend to be a Democrat and reduce the Republicans power in the house?

He's just an asshole.

Healthcare in West-by-god...should be a breeze. DNA is all the same there. The only jobs that come with benefits are municipal jobs...dog catcher, Sheriff deputy, School Board, etc...

That'll come when he pulls all this shiat and still gets voted out next election. WV Dems gotta be tired of this and the only reason I can see for anyone crossing the line to keep him there is stigginit, and the value of the lulz has got to have worn thin.

He had a chance to actually do something to help the people in his state, and he's chosen to do absolutely nothing helpful to anyone but himself. Dumbass.

Replacing Manchin with a liberal isn't feasible. Better to focus money and resources on a vulnerable Republican in another state.

Until recently nobody disagreed with Manchin. Now there are enough progressives working for people instead of donor companies that centrists like Manchin are finally getting even minimal pushback.

Biden has had more judicial nominees confirmed than any President since Nixon.  That doesn't happen without the Democrats setting the agenda.  Instead of the usual pool of nominees being pulled from former prosecutors and corporate attorneys, Biden has by and large chosen defense attorneys, public defenders, drug sentencing reform advocates etc.

It's not sexy headline grabbing stuff like a SCOTUS pick but it does make a difference.
