Mr Hands means something different these days...

He made a brief comeback in Pizza Hut commercials around the mid '90s. I remember liking those.

Supposedly the comedian who came up with the bit is from New Orleans.

He was a slice of pizza called Pizza Head, but obviously based on Mr. Bill. That was it.

Yep, I recall him creating Mr. Bill shorts whose theme was how dangerous the nutria is to the coastal environment. Weird shiat.

40 years?! I used to love Mr Bill, but I distinctly remember that last time I saw a new Mr Bill episode was on a show called That's Incredible or Incredible People, maybe on HBO.

Mr Bill, Matt Groenings Life in Hell series, the old show Not Necessarily The News, and Garfield books are intertwined in my 80s kid mind.

Agreed. I was 15 at the time and the perfect age for such comedy. Could watch Mr. Bill for hours.

Now sing the headline like Sinead O'Connor singing "Nothing Compares 2U."

You're welcome.

I remember during the end of the court case where the creators and NBC fought over rights, the judge pulled out his own sculpted version of Mister Bill. As he read off his decisions on who got film rights, and then who got merch rights, and so on, he'd use a pair of scissors to snip off bit of Mister Bill, to the sounds of "OHNOOOOOOO! from the courtroom audience.

Mister Bill had some post-SNL airtime on USA's Night Flight in the mid-80's.

This was before my time, and I never found it funny.  Which makes me think of all the shiat that I think is hilarious that my kids will not find the least bit humorous.  Odd how humor as an expiration date.

Much of the original SNL is just as horrible and unwatchable as today's crap.

I was 18. It looks like we're still the perfect age for such comedy.

One of the biggest surprises about growing up is that you don't in some ways. I, for one, am glad about that.

I can't believe my parents allowed me to wear this T-shirt:

The middle finger is somewhat obscure, though.

I have an official plush Mr. Bill that I picked up somewhere years ago. You squeeze him and he goes 'Oh nooooo!'

I think I also still have the official complete Mr. Bill on VHS somewhere.

/hey, it was the first thing on SNL I found relatable as a child. I loved making and squishing playdoh puppets as a toddler.

//That and Landshark.

I got the Mr Bill book for Christmas one year. It came with a read-along flexi-disc that I played constantly.
