They should be fined for disturbing the peace, drunk and disorderly, public intoxication and any other fines you can bad logic them into being guilty of.

That song is why I shop online. It's overplayed because it's one of the few Xmas songs of any note released after the 50s.

It is the trilogy of Christmas goodness in songs and I will fight anyone, anytime whom says different.

The only Christmas music I can stand to listen to is traditional (mostly religious) folk or obviously satirical (Weird Al's "Christmas at Ground Zero," for example).

I sincerely hope the Tin Pan Alley stuff, in particular, will be buried with the boomers for whom it still had some nostalgia value.

Forget Sir Paul too---no department store ought to play "Happy Christmas (War Is Over)" again either, though I'm sure Yoko appreciates the royalties.

When I am king, moreover, no merchant or DJ, on pain of death by baking in the place of his own Butterball, shall play any Christmas music before the first Sunday of Advent---or, in the secular US calendar, the Sunday after Thanksgiving.

The only unironic Christmas album I wouldn't cheerfully consign to a bonfire is the Horslips' Drive the Cold Winter Away, one of the band's folkier efforts (not all of which was strictly Christmas-themed music).

Partly sentimentality---the LP was one of those my father, who died of COVID-19 last Christmas, brought with him to the States.

Over the past few years I've made up some playlists of random weird Christmas music, ranging from Weird Al or Bob Rivers to Rainbow Brite's Christmas to Boosty Collins.

If you gotta have Christmas music you may as well have it be off the wall. No need to hear Let it Snow for the 80th time in a month.

No, Christmas music was perfected with Neil Diamond's Christmas Album, which, according to the Wikis, is among the 25 best-selling Christmas albums of all-time.

I'm trying to think of a good parallel. Maybe if the Yankees made it on the best-seller list by publishing a book about great champions in basketball.

Nov 1st was the U.S. "Christmas music line" for some years.  Obviously (again in the US) Thanksgiving once was, but that was forever ago.  Last few years it seems to be increasingly moving towards mid October.

In US stores (don't know about the Brits on this), CANDY is a real dividing line.  Halloween Candy gets put out as early as late August.  Christmas Candy, often literally the day after Halloween, but sometimes as late as a week later.  Valentine's Day candy skips the days after Christmas and New Years but pops up maybe January 7th.  Easter Candy goes in probably two weeks after Valentine's Day.  No mass holiday Candy rollout over the summer other than a subset of the normal ones in red, white and blue packaging they roll out a few weeks before Independence Day.
