He is gone.

But he did not suffer any more than he had to.

We had 8 wonderful years.

I have fond memories of Ministry on a cassette tape. I was working at a high-end golf-course as the late-night janitor, so after everyone was gone, I'd pop that on the central stereo and pump that through the entire building while I cleaned all the things.

Boy, I tell you what, between them & Primus, that place never had such a thorough cleaning -- by the time I was done, it was a sparkling new world order.

And I would ride home on a 10-speed from the 80's, with those goofy ram's horn handlebars, with zero brakes and no headlights, careening down the hills in the middle of the night. And when I got home I would smoke cigarettes and play Mortal Kombat on the Sega Genesis until the sun came up.

Good times with the Ministry. I'm happy to be here, and I'm super-looking forward to hearing their new music.  :)

Ooops, got busy watching the Battle of Alberta actually be a real battle & neglected my Noise Factor.  But according to Jeff I'll get over it so I suppose I shall.

/waves hello to all the assorted regulars & new drop ins
//sorry about the pooch Rev, we went through the same (he was also old) back in June. {awkward bro hug}

Guess I should find out how the battle of Ontario went.

Unlike my dad, who always went to bed before the 3rd period so he wouldn't be disappointed, I just stopped paying attention at all.

So this being a Canadian thing, do you have to follow the Canadian laws regarding so much music (percentage) has to be from Canada?

I guess that is good and bad. Good that you don't get pigeonholed. Bad that us foreigners don't get a good source of Canadian noise.

At least I have Unleash the Archers to scratch the Canadian itch.

I figured out a few months ago that it's like this flow-thingy -- you just hang-out and let the music come to you, and there's absolutely no requirements. For instance, I'm making grits tonight. I'm from the U.S. South, and Imma make instant grits, but they will be made while listening to this Canadian show that plays all sorts of noisy things from all over the world.

If I were to admit these things IRL, they would be fighting words, but we're in a safe space here.

So long as we have butter and/or bacon, we're all good.

My question was more to see of this is a good source of canadian things. youtube has given me all kinds of european and indian and japanese things to chew on. I did get a canadian rift for a while and I am always looking for new things.

Good job on the grits thing. I find that if you get the 5-minute grits and cook them for aout 40 minutes, they are rather good.

F*ckin Desert Sessions, man.

You know, I never really considered it, but there really is something to be said about finding your favorite jacket/shirt on the wrong hanger, and I never thought I'd have a place to discuss it (let alone allow myself to be publicly frustrated by it) but here we are in this grand Safe Space we call Noise Factor.

And what happened with the soothing disco!? Aww, man! I was just getting into that!

Sneak peek for my FARK.com listeners.

Earlier today, mere hours ago, I produced my first segment. A local lad (by way of Edinburgh) is Rich Paxton.

He has a band called 'Free the Cynics'. Him and I sat down, had many pints, and discussed music. He played many songs, some of his own band, and laughs were had.

It will air next Thursday on Big E Radio.

ST was my favorite band in high school. I got to see them open for Queensryche back in 90 or 91. Queensryche was touring off Silent Lucidity but still playing the full Operation Mindcrime set with movie. Damn good times.

Zero.

As long as I can curate it, that is, explain why I am playing what I am playing, everything is fair game.

You're playing what you're playing because a bunch of weirdos requested an hour of obscene Christmas songs a week before Christmas

For instance...

Good times were had by me -- THEY WERE HAD BY ME!

As always, I enjoyed the show, and since you're taking requests: The Shame of Life by The Butthole Surfers.

But whatever, man.

And I agree with McGrits -- 5 minute grits are just fine if you cook them long enough, and there ain't no shame in none of this. Like, seriously, I am not going to wake up in the morning and feel shame for participating in this thread -- nope.

Quick and Dirty: The Shame of Life by The Butthole Surfers.

DONE!!!

I've been wanting to do some more with Gibby Haynes.

Other tracks I have on the list:

I Think I Lost My Headache - QOTSA - The Basement Sessions 2020

The Dirtbombs - It's Not Fun Until They See You Cry

Minor Threat - Straight Edge

MDC - John Wayne Was A Nazi

Pennywise - God Save the USA
