The American Way has nothing to do with truth or justice. Usually it's very much the opposite.

Oh you must have missed this last week when Superman came out as Bisexual. Dean Cain (as if HE has a say) had some strong opinions.

Well while we're at it, "Truth, justice, and blowjobs for everyone" has a nice ring to it.

Thing is though, it was Superman (Clark Kent) who came out as Bi, it was his son.

However you define, or judge, the "American Way," dwelling on it is probably not ideal marketing in emerging Asia (including, but not just PRChina), the fastest growing markets for American pop-cultural exports. This isn't a complete surprise.

That said...no, "A Better Tomorrow" hasn't nearly the same ring to it. "A Better World" isn't much better. Supes is a superhero, not a startup.

Any ideas, Farkers?

Superman renouncing the American way and kissing boys? The conservatives are going to be so mad. He was already the two things conservatives hate the most: an immigrant AND a reporter.

Dude... DC already did New Justice League to appeal to China/Asian market.

It was literally Chinese knock-offs of the Main 3 (Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman).

No. I'm being serious. DC actually created Wish versions of their characters to appeal to China

I get the effort to put out more characters from countries other than the US, but DC already has a Chinese team that I would have been far more curious to read about (Great Ten). Just for story and pseudo-realism reasons, I think both Marvel and DC could do more to develop a sense there's more in their worlds than team USA beyond bit-players, terrorists, and super-villains.

Absolutely agree with you. Comics have had a diversity problem for a long time. And the solution to that is a diversity of creators.

One of the few things out of Fandom I was happy to see was the announcement about the return of Milestone and a push towards more POC and minority creators.

No, it was added during WW2 for the radio show, then dropped after a year or two. The TV show kept it.
