Dream on.

At they march in goose-stepping synchrony, they will vote R in every possible election at every level.

While the voting systems have been rigged to the point only their votes will be counted anyway.

Game over.

Republicans have not been the majority in the US for a very long time (see post-Reagan era popular vote totals) and have only remained relevant via asymmetrical attacks on the democratic process, so it should come as no surprise that they are ready and willing to abandon the democratic process entirely and seize control via any means necessary.

Georgia was a thing.  Trumps words helped the Dems win the Senate races there.  I was reading some of the crazy talk on a QAnon website and there is legitimate division on what to do.  Many of them are adamant that they will not vote unless the 2020 election is reversed.  Most actual Republicans will vote but many of the loons that Trump brought into the party will sit out 2022.

Bull.  As a big a lie as they tell polsters. They'll all vote.  Or have their votes conveniently counted anyway by corrupt Repuglican voting officials (while counting only 60% of D votes).

What happened in 2020 won't matter in future elections, based on the blatant rigging Georgia has imposed in response (which will be allowed by the rigged Supremes).

Promises, promises.

It would be a consumation devoutly to be wished, Fat Boy, but we should be so lucky as to see Trumpers remove themselves from human misery and American decadence by not participating in bent politics.

This. The Trump 2016 campaign was a publicity stunt that got catastrophically out of hand. He wasn't serious about becoming president in 2016 and doesn't want the job back in 2024.

Power he likes. Responsibility is for other people.

I do believe the MAGAdiots are brainless enough and such blind followers that they could be talked out of it if ordered by Trump

Let me explain it in words you will understand.  It's not about you.  He doesn't care about what you care about.  He promises you an empty vision: making America great again, without explaining what that means and offering no solutions, only targets for your unfocused anger.  It's...all...about...him.

Perhaps sowing distrust of the integrity of the electoral process among your base for the past year wasn't the best idea.

2021-10-16 3:43:40 PM
This is a two-pronged attack by Trump.

1) It's a message to GOP politicians to do his bidding or else they'll be voted out in 2022 and 2024.  It's a  threat to not just primary certain Repubs but ALL of them.

2) It's setting the stage for further insurrection by moving the disputed territory beyond "vote count" and "vote authenticity" to basic election validity as a whole. If Republicans boycott elections they'll be programmed to never accept those election results, which permanently splits the country into two factions and two governments.

It's the next step in his attempt to completely destroy democracy and inspire civil war.

He is an enemy of America and should be treated as one at all times.

Look: I get that he's still a force in the Repub party. But do we have to cover him like he's a legitimate political force elsewhere? Nothing he says makes any sense except to his idiot followers. He is totally clueless about how government and politics work, and his only "ability" lies in sh*tting all over whatever he's working on.

So, enough of the Trump speexhes, OK? Just a one sentence summary is more than enough. E.g.: "Donald Trump made another content-free speech to 175 of his idiot followers last night in East Bumfark, Kentucky"

A real test of his power would have been for him to take charge and effectively managed 2020s' response to the coronavirus, thus saving millions of lives and much economic damage, and probably getting him re-elected. We all know what actually happened.

Many of trump's most fervent supporters had no interest in politics until 2016, and rarely voted, Look at how many 1/6 devolutionaries didn't vote. They'll lose interest in politics without trump's daily twits

[FTFA]  "Cas Mudde, a professor of international affairs at the University of Georgia recently told Insider that Trump's threat is "mostly a power play."

"He wants to remain at the center of GOP politics and prevent the party from moving on without him," Mudde said."

There is a basic level of desperation in this -- but given the GOP's craven pursuit of their Base's - Trump's -- approval, his threat is credible.

Also, Trump doesn't care if the GOP crashes and burns

A good chunk of trumpists won't vote if Trump isn't on the ballot. They aren't Republicans and don't care if they lose, might even call it a win. Their loyalty is only to Trump, and Trump isn't loyal to anyone.

They're capable of it, but can't deal with the consequences of their violence. That's why these damn judges have to slap those insurrectionists down hard.  Otherwise, they'll sit and serve their sentence and be primed for worse violence. They should all get 10-20 years in a federal pen.

They need to step up, get on board with their leader, and do the right thing and boycott the next election. That's the only way to teach the Republican party who's boss.

Vote or don't vote.

It's a free country, at least if you're White and well off.

I'm enough of both to see the difference in deference.

Most days it makes me ashamed. But, I live by the "don't be an asshole" golden rule, so I guess that explains the difference between me and people who convince themselves to believe obvious lies.
