Are the controls all in black on a black panel with black lights?

The great triangle shortage from the early 80s was tough on everyone.

"You meant 'low-poly' rather than 'low-resolution', didn't you."

[YouTube video: The Lo Res Car Is a Truly Insane Vehicle -- and I Drove It!]

After skimming through that video that thing is a total POS.  It's high design with zero practical function.  It slow, dangerous, difficult to get in/out of, has no mirrors, the shell vibrates, the controls suck and it will require multiple gallons of windex.

I get that fashion is often a statement and not always practical, but that thing sucks.

I'm sure it's a collectible for someone with too much money.

Meh, it's an art piece.  It will go into a car gallery with other bits of art, some of which will be other nicer cars, also treated as art.

Doug DeMuro would like to show you all its quirks and features.

It belongs in a museum. And nowhere else. World famous architect designed it, but then again, the dutch are more known for wooden shoes than motor vehicles when it comes to transportation.

Is this an actual prototype, or a rendering like that stupid "yacht" from the day before?  Because it makes more sense as a rendering, and little as an actual vehicle.

Maybe it is like those "custom choppers" which are meant to be parked, no ridden [driven in the car's case].

Inspired by the design look of the Lamborghini Countach, the first prototype of the Lo-Res Car achieved a Wallpaper Magazine Design Award in 2016.

ftfta

Power is provided by a KDS 5-kilowatt electric motor that drives the rear wheels through a toggle switch-activated single-speed transmission.

Engine, drivetrain, running gear etc are all part of a car's design.

Would never pass a safety inspection. The tint. No wipers. And the frontal design has to have some kind of requirement for minimizing harm in the case of a low speed collision with a pedestrian.

Come, now. Have a heart. Who wouldn't like to saw through pedestrians in the rain?

Well this means there will probably be another remake of Brave New World in the near future.

2021-10-17 10:11:06 AM
Poor visibility, crowded interior with ridiculous low volume, entering and exiting with any grace is going to be impossible, lifting the entire top means a significant risk of getting stuck inside if there's a failure... and that's before hitting it for the likely lack of standard safety features.

All for something that doesn't even look that interesting.
