Oh, hell no. It's bad enough that whenever he plays all the announcers talk about is how great he is. I'd quit watching the NFL if I had to endure another 10 years of Al Micheals or Chris Collinsworth fellating Tom on national TV.

How many global plagues does he plan on his golfing buddies unleashing?

Prediction: Tom Brady will be the next Lance Armstrong. In a few years, rumors will start to break out about potential doping, and then after years of denial, Brady will cynically and tearfully admit to it on an Oprah special.

Honestly, unless he has something literally no one else has even heard of, let alone uses I doubt that explains it. I don't know what explains it, but if it's doping he wouldn't be the only one playing this well into his 40s

What's the oldest player in any of the four major American sports (MLB/NBA/NHL/NFL)?  Not counting stunts where a guy played part of one game, actual players actually playing.

Tom Brady will keep playing until there is no team left in the league that will give him a starting job.

With everything he's achieved, his career will end like 99% of all football players, by being told you're just not good enough anymore.

Brady/Mahomes overthrows a target.
Commentators: "Looks like the receiver was in the wrong spot!"
Any other QB overthrows a target.
Commentators: "Looks like he overthrew his receiver."

Until Brady gets hit with a normal thing that people over 40 get, like diverticulitis, and he has to be on levaquin and flagyl for 2 weeks. That not only wrecks the gut biome, but it causes tendon damage. It's a couple days in the hospital, then a week on orals, feeling like utter garbage. Then several weeks of easing back into activities, because you're 40, and the damage the drugs did is real.

Took 10 full days just for my digestive system to return to normal function after I finished the antibiotics. That includes supplementing probiotics.

It'll just take one getting older illness and Brady will be done.

George Blanda was the oldest at 48,

Phil Niekro retired from the MLB at 48. He was a knuckleball pitcher though, so he never put much strain on his arm. There's been a few older players, but most of them played in the first half of the 20th century.

It's not the praise we have an issue with, it's the fact that they mostly ignore the other 105 players in the game so that they can go on and on about how great Tom Brady is, as if it there was any question. It's tired and boring.

I remember that as well... I was thinking the same thing you were, he should have stayed retired. It's the most violent sport we have because of the size of the people hitting you. Hockey is pretty damn violent, but they don't have some 400lb guy crushing down on you.

I don't want to see him go off on a stretcher, I'd prefer to see him leave like Drew Brees did... where you saw in his eyes it was the last game he'd ever play and he left it all out on the field.

Again, it's not the praise, it's the constant praise. There's a whole football game going on and all they care to discuss is just how great of a football player Tom Brady is, which is great if you're a Tom Brady fan. But for the rest of us, we want to watch/hear about the game, not one player for three farking hours.

He will finish out his contract, barring injury. Beyond that, who knows. He's got incredible body mechanics to make up for diminished strength, but there will come a point, just like Manning, that there will be too many throws he can't make to effectively run an offense. He's already putting a lot of loft on his deep ball and you've seen some defense adjust to this to jump routes when he's trying to hit where a receiver is vs. where they will be. Once he loses the honey hole or quick sideline strike (throwing from the right hash, in shotgun, to a receiver 5-10 yards out on the left sideline is A LOT further than it looks), he's going to be in a lot of trouble.

Credit where credit is due - guy is the GOAT and he has done more to play at a high level as he ages than anyone, but there will be a point - maybe this year, maybe in 5 - where the wheels will come off.

Meh. Brady is clearly closing in on retirement because he's started showing up in commercials.  It won't be long before getting paid the hock the latest crypto-currency pays just as well as the game and for a lot less toll on his body.

He also depends on having a great O-Line, something afforded him forever in New England until it wasn't. Notice how he got better again behind another excellent line.  Once TB hits the salary cap problems (and they will, look at Mahomes and the Chiefs this year), will Brady go to yet another good team? I just don't see it.

/ also I predict Gronk will not play another snap

KC's salary cap problem has nothing to do with Mahomes. It's because of a few specific sh*tty contracts that are eating up cap space on the defense.

Anyway, after all the years of watching Brady I think his biggest attribute is that he just knows how not to get hit. His delivery, even at 43, is stupid fast, and he knows when to bail out early enough that a hit would cause a penalty.

His sixth sense for the pass rush is second to none. You never, ever see him get flustered by defensive pressure.

The point is KC doesn't have as good of a line and Mahomes doesn't look quite as invincible. That happens to every team eventually.
