English language commentary, yeah.

And as a kid during the Cold War I found the idea that Americans are astronauts and Russians are cosmonauts to be farking stupid. Adding a word for the Chinese continues the stupidity.  I consider cosmonaut to be the translation of the word astronaut.

And now for your weather report, clear skies with a chance of falling rocket boosters.

Robinfro: SumoJeb: 720p WTF is this shiat?

It loses pixels going through Chinese propaganda filters, so that if it explodes they have time to cut the feed and activate their lookalike actors and stock footage.

pehvbot: It's so funny, after watch so many Soyuz launches, seeing the taikonauts in the capsule makes them look like they are tiny.  It's the same basic layout as Soyuz, only bigger.

Everything the Chinese have "developed" has been a total ripoff of something.

krispos42: Gubbo: Is this the rocket where the insulation is designed to fall off during the first moments of launch and everyone proclaims "omg china is so stoopid their rocket falls apart"

The rocket did do that.  I have no idea if it was designed to or not, but I did get a weird flashback to the "Challenger" disaster.

Challenger was a faulty booster o-ring during takeoff.
Columbia was done in by a chunk of insulation falling off during takeoff.

I doubt that anyone's freedom will be cancelled if we use the term "Taikonaut".

I'd be more worried about the uptick in the drumbeats off of Taiwan or even Mongolia.

I'd be more worried about a 1000+ Chinese fishing fleet emptying the oceans near any small country that can't defend itself against China.
