I think it's a legitimate question, aside from having a recording contract what makes it newsworthy but she died in some tragic way? It's not like this is some sort of Buddy Holly / Big Bopper/ Selena / Stevie Ray Vaughan kind of situation, this is just some kid who just got a recording contract.

If this is some sort of Aaliyah sort of situation where her death was due largely to unreasonable demands to overweight a small Cessna with so much luggage that it could barely get airborne?

Unlike some people in the thread I'm not trying to be shiatty here I am legitimately wondering what makes this story special?

Hi, DaWormyPimpsta here.

I've personally survived two (2) cataclysmic traffic accidents in the last two years. The first nearly cost me my right leg (shout out to my incredible ortho surgeon) and the second about three weeks ago that resulted in two broken toes on my wife's right foot and the total loss of the first brand new vehicle I'd bought for myself in nearly 20 years.

The 1st wreck was caused by someone squeezing into the space in front of me on a major freeway (presumably because they needed to get to "point B" a half second faster) and immediately slamming on their brakes.

The 2nd wreck was caused by a woman who blew through a stop sign directly in front of me. The collision was so violent that my truck ended up in someone's front yard.

These two wrecks are just the ones I was unable to avoid. I can't count the number of near misses I've had in the last two years, especially in parking lots. (It should be noted that I haven't been in a car wreck in decades before 2019.

Both accidents were caused by people not paying attention to the road. I can only assume the reason for the lapse in surrounding awareness is because people believe they are able to expertly drive a motor vehicle while texting, surfing the intarwebz, and/or watching YouTube videos.

This belief is 1,000% incorrect.

I'm sharing this CSB because we've got two stories on FARK today detailing people getting run over by vehicles. This one sadly resulting in a 22-year-old woman's death.

So, today's PSA is a simple one: Remember, you are not the only person on the road so please, in the name of all that is good and holy, HANG UP YOUR GODDAMNED PHONES AND DRIVE YOUR GODDAMNED VEHICLES!

Oh, before I forget, GREEN MEANS GO, DIPshiatS! HANG UP YOUR farkING PHONES AND DRIVE YOUR farkING CARS!

Thank you for your attention. We now return you to your regularly scheduled chaos, already in progress.

This sucks. Sorry you had to go through this.

The sick thing is, if you have two beers at dinner and don't cause an accident, but get caught, the penalties are worse than if you're texting and kill a bus load of nuns and orphans.

That's fine, I missed the approved with red as it apparently got buried in the news feed. Fair enough.

My other question still stands. What makes this one so special as to get nationwide coverage like this? Any accidental death is terrible but apart from her Instagram pics (which are a dime a dozen in their own right) I don't see anything that makes her stand out at all.

I'm not going to convince you of this.  I like pretty things.  I want them to last.  I want all pretty things to last, and when they don't it makes me sad.  If I were a follower/subscriber/whatever, I would want to know this.  I'm not, so I don't care.  You might not have hear her music.  I'm guessing no.  But I'll let you in on a little secret.

"Singer Emani Johnson, better known as Emani 22, has died at age 22, her manager announced Thursday. "

Since this is frak dot corn, you can make the deduction, I'm sure.  A life was lost, and a pretty one at that, talent can be disputed.  And that's bad. But it makes a fine Frak headline.
