Will it be on the Mexican Radio?

Damnit!  I misread the headline as "the return of Trump's remains to Mexico," and got all excited.

Good. If it was okay crossing all of Mexico for a month, you can wait there a little bit longer.

Yeah I don't get why the Biden Administration doesn't have fresh ideas instead of looking back to the fascism that got TFG voted out, either.

It's frustrating.

It's not the Biden Administration. It's one judge who decided that the Biden Administration did not end the "Stay in Mexico" policy correctly and now have to restart it.

Literally all Biden needs to do to get around administrative rules is get mexico to refuse to take anyone under the MPP.

If Biden negotiated with Mexico and convinces them to agree to take people, he owns whatever version of the program he puts in place.

The headline:
Biden administration is preparing to revive a Trump-era border policy in November

The article:
The policy, informally known as "remain in Mexico," was suspended at the beginning of President Joe Biden's term and formally terminated months later. But in August, a federal judge in Texas said that the Biden administration had violated the Administrative Procedure Act -- which requires that agencies take certain procedural steps when implementing policy -- in how it went about unwinding the program and ordered its revival.
The Supreme Court later declined the Biden administration's request that it put on hold the lower court order, issuing a major blow to the administration as it sought to distance itself from Trump-era immigration policies.

WOW that's a deceptive headline.

This is outrageous  -- Trump was the abberration -- nothing was passed into law. It was all EOs or department policy changes.

That judge's intemperate decision has implications for foreign policy which is the exclusive purview of the WH

Holy farking fark. That should scare everyone.

If Biden can break the treaties for aylum seeker from Mexico, he can break the treaties for asylum eeker from everywhere. And if Biden is doing it, then the USA's funding and staffing of UN agencies will mean other countries will follow suit with their own preferred asylum seeking targets.

1) biden admin actively cancels trump policy you profess to hate

2) republican judge goes "you didn't fill out form 86-z under the light of a blue moon, I'm undoing your cancelation"

3) Biden admin requests policy stays cancelled while they wait for another blue moon to fill out form 86-z

4) Trump - appointed Supreme Court says no, trump policy stays during that time because fark you

5) your dumb ass gets used as a tool to depress voter turnout by getting you to loudly repeat that Biden Admin is re-instituting trump policy, and you JUMP at the chance

I don't understand how someone can wake up in the morning and spend the whole day just punching themselves in the dick and blaming it on Biden and Pelosi, but damned if you people don't make it seem like the hip thing the cool kids are doing.

Well, the whole point of Pelosi as Veep is that she can navigate the court, while Biden navigates the legislatures. So we should be angry.

Biden's White House, and ministries, are supposed to be stacked to the top with appointees and hires that don't make the kind of file folder label mistakes you are chalking this up to be. Was the decision really about submissions procedures? That they went through the wrong wicket at the courthouse? Certainly they are supposed to be able to fix the problem within days and resubmit, if that's the difficulty. But at least you could look for the substantive issue that might, sorta, justify the unjustifiable delay.

You really think that crimes against humanity, of all categories of unlawful policy, require time to fix? Really? In the USA? Holy shiat, dude. CAH do not work that way. The delay can only be from substantive issues.

And those issues do not supercede simply topping the delays.

The same goes for obeying international conventions.

There isn't a defence of Biden and Pelosi in this instance.

The ones a judge says you can't change. Now the judge declaring himself the setter of executive policy may itself be [narrator: is] bullshiat, but if we are a nation of laws, you can't just ignore the judge's ruling on this matter.

So it's nothing to do with what the Administration wants or its desired policies, but don't let that get in the way of furiously masturbating about how everything you don't like is the Evil Moderates' fault.

The Biden admin is way ahead of you. When thousands of Haitians showed up under a bridge in Texas, Biden deported the single men but let those with children stay. Laws and legal rulings are mere suggestions when Democrats don't like them.

It is more than one judge. If it was only one they would just get it reversed on appeal. Trump constantly had judges stopping his policy changes because the amateurs in his in administration were in too much of a hurry and missed the niceties the law requires for changing regulations. It looks like some of  Biden's people need failed to learn that lesson. I know it is frustrating, but go through the motions or risk being sent back to step one.

The judges can, at best, make Biden try to restart the MPP.

To Mexico, the MPP already ended and they can renegotiate. Just because courts say Biden couldn't end it doesn't Mexico has to listen.

Which, as I already said, means Biden can make a back channel call essentially end the program anyway, by refusing cede to Mexico's new requirement in the negotiations. Get mexico to propose something absurd and that's the end of that.

If Mexico was locked in in any way, all these articles wouldn't mention negotiations at all.

Climate change will eventually force the entire population of Mexico out of Mexico.  They can go to America or Brazil, but they'll have to move somewhere.

If the USA had any sense they'd just open the doors and start making plans for us to start spreading into Canada, which is mercifully mostly still empty.
