Did they know where they were going to go when the volcano blew?

Pouring like an avalanche coming down the mountain.

Visited Palma like 20 years ago but never realized there was an active volcano there.

Well better a tsunami than a pyroclastic flow, you actually got a chance to get out of the way in this case.

I hope everyone has a couch they can stand on.  It's the safest place to be when the floor turns to lava.

A reminder for everyone not familiar with the history of this volcano: La Palma is Spanish for The Palma.

I thought that only the carpet was lava.   Couches, tables, chairs and linoleum were safe.

It was resting, like Norwegian Blue in the Parrot Islands.

At the very second, very smokey and hard to spot anything, but at night when the light source is the fire/lava the activity really stands out. You can scroll back through the live feed and see different activity. This is day 27, and there is a site to make a donation to help the people who have lost their homes, according to the afarTV channel link.

Grr, 'at this very second.' Fark gives you time to preview and what do I do? Also right now, there is sand being blown from Africa, so that adds extra dust in the air.

Throwing me into the cauldron would get you little more than a side-eye from the gods.
