Welcome Fark Artists to our Fartist Friday Contest. This week our theme is Show & Tell Volume 11: Happy Accidents, Volume Two. A year ago we had Volume One and now an encore. SHOW us your artwork that came out differently than expected but became a Happy Accident & TELL us about it. An interesting oops photo blur, an errant paint stroke that made it better. All artistic mediums allowed including photos, paintings, jewelry, poetry, PShop, drawings, etc. Difficulty: Art you haven't entered into our contests before. Be sure to TELL us about the art.

Tippy the Turtle's Tips!

Fark user image Don't forget to tell us about things like its inspiration, materials, backstory, etc.

Contest Rules:

One (1) individual entry item per post please, and a total of three (3) entries posted maximum allowed per person.

All votable entries must follow this week's theme requirements. Posts that don't follow the theme will remain but have Voting disabled. Be sure to check the theme!

Prize: Bragging rights and a mention in the Fark NotNewsletter!

Hearty congratulations to last week's contest winner kabloink explaining why the heck our socks disappear in the wash - and check out all our talented F'Artistes!

FFFUQ (Fartist Friday Frequently Unasked Questions):

What?
Fartist Fridays are weekly creativity contests that you can participate in with things you have on hand since many of us are stuck at home right now. If you have an idea for a future contest theme please post it here or send it along to Farkback.

Why? To have fun showing off our skills (or lack thereof!) while we practice socially distancing together, and to vote for your favorite entries.

When? This contest is submitted on Thursdays with entries open immediately to TotalFarkers (membership has its privileges!), then it goes to the Main Page on Friday. Entries close around midnight Eastern on Sunday night. All times are approximate because we're all drunk.

How Does Voting Work? Check the "Enable voting for this entry" box. If you forget, just report it and ask. All entries that meet the contest theme are considered eligible for voting, so please mention if you prefer voting NOT be enabled.

Check out past F'artiste contests by clicking on the Topic Tag and check the weekly Fark NotNewsletter for info on that week's contest theme ahead of time. All skill levels encouraged (as you can see from my sample below) and most importantly: We're all in this together so let's create some F'Arts together - Fark Arts, that is.

Accidental 3D - I was adding a psychedelic background to my his Joker face but hit the he hard light toggle instead of lighten.  Instead of the white face and coloured background,  this appeared.  If you are on the mobile or laptop then wubble your screen and watch him nod or shake his head.

Subby gets to do adult coloring for neurotherapy but I have to do my own line drawings first. I challenged myself further by making a template to trace. I like this one because you can flip it upside down and the character changes.

This is the first painting I did with those inexpensive "watercolor" pellet kits. The 36 colors for $5 ones you find at places like Walmart. I quickly found out it's more like water soluble chalky paint pellet and doesn't soak and flow into the paper like normal water color.

So, I'm sitting there with my watercolor brushes, my little cup of water and a mixing tray not knowing how to deal with this weird paint. Like a man on a mission, I was determined to complete the painting and persevered.

Anyhow, the results were both horrifying and interesting. Overall, I think it should have been quickly burned for the sake of humanity, but I actually like the dry brush effect of the blue background. So, I hid it in a stack of other artwork and up until now it was never mentioned again.

I was just messing around with ideas for a picture and damn did it ever turn out better than I could have hoped; freehand watercolor with pen highlights. Mounted because I liked it that much.

This was a straight-up accident. I made a pen and ink drawing with two different color fountain pens and then accidentally dripped condensed moisture from a cold drink right smack on top. I quickly did what I could to salvage it and instead it turned into a watercolor, which as it is is my preferred medium so it all worked out in the end. To date it is still the best eye I have ever done.
