Has anyone mentioned yet that Qanon, ostensibly about protecting children from pedophiles, regularly posted to 8chan, which Ron Watkins administers and has for years, the same 8chan that got its start because 4chan recognized American law and banned child porn (properly Child Sexual Abuse Material or CSAM). The same 8chan has hosted large amounts of CSAM, including over the period that Ron Watkins administered same page. The same Ron Watkins who says he is "doubling down with God as compass".

I mean at this point anyone could co-opt a hyper conservative personality and then just do the right thing while slinging the conspiracy theory that big gubmint is trying to kill Jesus as a smokescreen.  I bet it would be super effective.

And since Republicans are taking back the House, this could happen:

Ladies and Gentlemen.....Speaker of the House Q.

Third in line to the White House.

He's just trying to monetize Qanon.  It's not like the Watkins made a lot of money off it.  This way he can do the normal "failed candidate graft dance" - paying outrageous amounts to 'consultants' named Won Ratkins, etc.

Given how batshiat crazy he came off in the HBO doc about Q,,,,he's going to make Trump look like a Toastmaster.

But good luck with the grift -- hope Trump hasn't dried all the funding sources from the masses you hope will donate before you get there.

How do you know how much money they made off it?  By all indications they're doing well enough to buy expensive watches and pens and travel the world.  I doubt that money came from the hog farm.  And if it came from their other business ventures why would they be looking to cash in on Qanon, especially now?

No, let's not diminish this as a typical consulting grift or political softshoe.  This is dangerous advancement of some of the most destructive disinformation out there.

There is an interview with Fred Brennan that is the person they stole 8chan in the Q personality from. Fred Brennan says that Watkins and his dad wanted to create a fascist movement in the United States. Watkins and his father owned pornography company , 8chan, 2chan, a pig farm. These guys are villains they've most likely produce CP for the dark web at some point in time as well. These are villains proper villains

Because there weren't exactly a lot of advertisers willing to run ads on 8chan.  Most of the ads were for a Watkins shell company selling weird audiobooks via Amazon.

There was no "officially licensed" Qanon merch to sell, either.  Lots of people sold Qanon merch, so the market was very diluted.

Unless the Watkins were receiving direct payments, they did not get rich off Qanon, which no doubt chaps their asses.  I think that's part of why Ron is running, to try to directly monetize the grift, via standard campaign shenanigans.

As to their lifestyle, they already owned plenty of shady websites that generated income, and the Phillipines has a low cost of living.  And lots of fake expensive watches.

As far as advancing a destructive agenda, these creeps are incredibly uncharismatic.  The Into the Storm documentary, by giving them so much screen time, showed just how repellent they are, and a campaign run will only further expose them.  Only the already lost & damned true believers will contribute, and they are already gone to civil society.

Can one still buy Q tshirts/flags/etc. on Amazon? I am assuming so, but goddamn they should be labelled a terrorist organization after January 6th.

I'd look it up, but have zero desire to pollute my search results.

I still say you're not thinking broadly enough.  Merch and ads are not the only way to make money.  Consider all the influencers that glommed on to the Qanon sidechains and allegedly received large sums of money to do it.

Think these 2 guys didn't latch onto some of that?  Would they tell you about it?  Or would they more likely poormouth the situation and claim they haven't made a cent, in order to seem pure and avoid scrutiny from authorities looking for tax or other commerce violations?

Yes, until the GOP takes over in 2022, obstructs everything, then Trump is re-elected in 2024 and democracy dies because not enough Democrats care about anything other than enriching themselves.
