So, BPA will feminize us, Pthalates will just flat-out kill us....

..Maybe we should keep a better eye on industrial chemists. Just a thought.

Let's have fun switching the cause and effect!

The study found those with higher levels of phthalates were more likely to die prematurely from any cause, especially from heart problems.

Maybe people with heart problems have a harder time expelling phthalates from their system, instead of saying having high levels of phthalates causes heart problems.  For this study to prove which it actually is, you'd have to measure the actual level of intake of phthalates, not the level remaining in their bodies, which might be impractical or impossible to do.

This is why a lot of these things turn out to be bullshiat, or at least very hard to prove.  You have to prove that the thing you think is the cause is actually the cause and not the effect (or, alternatively, both are effects and the actual cause is something totally different).

I like when they say stuff like "up to ___" or "as many as ___".    It could be one, but that qualifies as "up to one billion!"

I've gotten tired of responding "fine" when people as me how I am, so I invent extremely minor griefs.

"How are you?"
"Alright, but I'm not entirely satisfied with my current shampoo."

It's true. You can shake the shampoo bottle to get the last bits out, get shampoo in your eyes, slip in the shower, fall out the bathroom window into a dump truck; and get flattened by a bulldozer at the landfill.

I've died at least four times this way.

I have not bought shampoo in over 20 years, back when I started shaving my head. So I guess this means I am immortal!

Damn near everything in your world is artificial. I have wooden floors in my place, but of course they've been stained and varnished. Do you have rugs, paint, cleaners under the sink. You spray deodorant and Fabreze into the air. You are all doomed. And you all deserve it. I don't because I'm Mr. wonderful. You should feel sorry for me. And guilty too.

At this point, if you eat any seafood, that's how much plastic you will eat, embedded in their flesh. Microplastics for our loss.
