It's a constant thing with these people- death threats to elected officials, death threats to journalists, death threats to teachers, death threats to doctors, death threats to scientists, death threats to pretty much anyone.  At what point can there be any consequences for these scum? A serious question for law-talking Farkers. Is there nothing to be done unless they actually physically assault someone?

We are on a precipice, friends. We stand here mocking these people that are totally mockable -- we laugh at them with discomfort, and a sense of wtf, but here we are -- we've already been in it -- this is fascism 101. It could not only happen here, but it has already happened, and the media let it slip by.

These people are super-dangerous, and making fun of them is merely letting them get away with it...

States should pass a "death threat" law. All death threats are treated as legitimate. So don't ever say, "I'm going to kill you!" Implied death threats are also considered legitimate: carrying a weapon in places where weapons are not usually carried (and by a person not authorized to carry a weapon), gunning a car's engine in parking lots or other slow-driving areas.

It's been that way for a long time with the American piggy sound. Can't be bothered to do anything other than steal shiat because how did you get $400 cash? Must be a drug dealer!

When I was in high school a guy threatened to murder my sister, in writing. We contacted the police. Tried to get charges against him, a restraining order, anything. Know what the pig filth said? "We can't do anything until he makes good on his threats." This was in the early nineties. Probably a nephew of some random pig's second cousin or some shiat. They refused to even fill out a goddamn report. Wertlose Schweinedreck.

Well, if you're House, you get three guesses to be wrong before getting it right.

He seems like he's also slurring his speech a bit, same as when he was standing on that chair in another video from last week that Rachel referenced.

Maybe it's the stress of knowing he's going to go to prison? I believe in another story he is one of three congresscritters named as helping the 01/06 terrorist attack by someone under investigation.

IANAL, but TL;DR, unless there is at least some evidence that a threat goes beyond "an asshole mouthing off" there's very little that can be done. The 3 things necessary are that the threat must be (a) specific (b) believable and (c) there must be some evidence of intent (something beyond mouthing off).

If I scream "you better watch yer f***in back!" as I drunkenly leave a bar, not actionable.

If I coldly glare and say "I know where you live... you better be careful next time you drive down a hill 'cause your brakes might not work," and the bartender hears it too, that's probably gonna be a visit from the sheriff. If they catch me walking towards your place with cutters in my hands... that's an arrestin'.

That's pretty much how free speech works. Unless it is one of a very few types that directly mean or imply imminent threat ("fire in a threater," incitement to riot, direct credible threats/criminal menacing), free speech means no a priori restraint.

The sad part is that when or if he runs for reelection, he will get a sizable number of votes. He might not win but he will get votes. That means there are people out there who either don't see this as a deal breaker or who believe he is making perfect sense and absolutely agree with what he is saying.

That or they just want to "stiggin' it" to the Libs.

Crack cocaine could do this. But I live in a pretty methed-up county here and that's the behaviors I see in the tweaker set around here pretty much every day, especially when they're mixing it up with Oxy.
