Wait... ...was anyone at all in the world curious about the early life of Willy Wonka? Is there a Charlie and the Chocolate Factory fandom that is just clamouring for someone to do with that franchise what "Solo" did for Star Wars?

The film is directed by Paul King, who made both of the extremely charming live-action Paddincton films.

Didn't see that cominc.

It's fine as a book, but man, it doesn't age well with all the space adventures. You have a crazy chocolate factory that enclosed from the rest of the world? I can suspend my disbelief.

A space station and whatever-oozle monsters and saving the white house? Nah. Independence Day did it better.

But, it'll be interesting to see how they deal with the enslaved africans rescuing the Oompa Loompas. I'm gonna assume poorly.

Don't get me wrong. I love the original movie.

I'm looking forward to Dune, but it's a hard pass on a Willy Wonka prequel.

I don't know. The insane president seems a bit prescient by several individuals.

I haven't heard that name since he passed through Armie Hammer ... (turns page)... 's career path.

I want to see the backstory of Augustus Gloop. I need to know what horrible tragedy caused him to start eating his feelings.

The Greatest Showman doesn't deserve to be lumped in with those other garbage fires.

It was a thoroughly entertaining film, and that it was completely historically inaccurate IMO is the best way to tell a story about someone who's entire gimmick was selling fairy-tales to the masses.

Kid is a really good actor, but this is a film that didn't need to be made.   It still has the Stench of Depp on it.

I like this kid.
And I'm really looking forward to seeing his performance in Dune.
