I can see that subby isn't a big streaming fan. But there seems to be huge amounts of cash in it.

/and levels of toxic behavior that go along with all that cash

Oh I am overwhelmed with sympathy for Amazon.

Well, perhaps just whelmed.

I'm definitely in that second box. Though if my viewers (all two of them) would chat with me, I'd totally be more talkative, but I can't just put on a show by myself

That's kind of the entire point of streaming. Nobody starts out with a lot of viewers who are engaging with them and driving the stream. They have to be a 1 person show to get the viewers who can then take part in the stream.

If you enjoy doing it, keep doing it. However without the showmanship that will attract and maintain viewers I wouldn't plan on quitting your full time job to become a streamer.

For me, it's something to do while playing Halo after a bunch of drinks I go through the backlog of games I have

Maybe someone can improve their shiatty playback system.

Haha I never planned to. I like showing off Star Citizen and getting people into it (or even just dispelling the "it's not a game!" BS)

Yeah, this actually is kind of a big deal.  While I doubt anyone is working hard to find a way to freely scream the N-word or draw an ASCII penis, there are still huge implications for stopping harrassment given this leak.

And now everyone can look at what the tools they have for things are vs what they said they were and start filing lawsuits for enabling harassment, hate speech, etc

The only alternative was QuickTime but Apple made you install the iTunes bloatware that came with it.

That's just subs. Apparently doesn't include bits or donations.

I don't "get" Critical Role. D&D is fun to play, but not nearly as interesting to watch as something more story-oriented like Call of Cthulhu and other light-medium RPGs.

In the future, 94% of jobs will be food delivery, streaming (including sex work), and lawn care. Twitch is leading the way.

Figured Crit Role would be in the top 3, did not leave disappointed.

I follow several streamers on Twitch - most of them are quite enjoyable to watch (playing video games) - I subscribe to a few - it's entertainment to me

Nerds who watch other nerds play video games. Who would do such a thing and why? I don't understand it.

The Eagles play this sunday...

There's nothing in D&D that prevents you from running a story oriented game

Also, just 'cuz they're getting paid that much doesn't mean they're actually worth that much.
