"Either Beane or Epstein would be a headline-grabbing home run hire by Cohen, and that's precisely what he needs."

Jesus, look at ego on this writer. This is such a myopic statement that truly describes the appalling state of journalism. "Cohen and Alderson should hire one of these two because it will get clicks that I will write positively about...or else."

What a d-bag.

Billy Beane has had far more attractive opportunities than the New York Mets could ever offer him.  And he's turned them all down.  He owns 5% of the A's, and the only place he may be going is to Las Vegas, with the A's if they move.

Hillbilly Jim: Is Drew a Mets fan?

Right? There was a Mets green a few days ago that sat there for 6 hours with no comments. It was as if someone greened a story about a high school cross country team in Nebraska.

Nobody cares.

I have a solution: demote the entire Mets major league organization.  Call up the Binghamton Rumble Ponies to replace them.  Can't be any worse, right?

phimuskapsi: Rojas was the first step.

The Mets need offense and they need it badly. Mets had 6 starters with a WAR over 1.0, and the best batting average was Alonso with .262. In fact, Alonso lead in every hitting statistic: HR, RBI, OBP, Hits, AB's.

Clean house. Next to go should be the strength and conditioning coaches, and then move on to the players. Blow it up.

JD Davis was second on the team in fWAR / PA (minimum 200 PA and looking at Baez across the whole year, not just with the Mets).

But he struck out a few times with the bases loaded so he doesn't count.
