How about little silver guillotines?

I feel like it's really, really easy not to design nooses.

Just a preview of the third reich inspired spring collection, Jack Boots with lovely deaths head embossing. It's all about synergy in the fashion world.

You'd think so, but every time I go to design jewelry it's like, necklace, ring, noose, bracelet, noose, ring, noose, noose...  Honestly, I don't know how I keep getting work.

Overheard in the fashion house:

Have you looked at our designs recently?  They've got nooses on them.  Are we the baddies?

The people who run these things grew up and live in an aristocratic euro-bubble. It would never cross their mind. It's not like the creative director of Givenchy keeps up with details of unsavory american history.

The difference between a fashion show and a strip club is that the latter has better looking models, more tasteful outfits, and costs less.

What exactly is the problem here?  Do we simply not acknowledge the existence of nooses?  Is the whole subject taboo?  Is it just one of those things like the way you don't use certain swear words?

Every time one of these dumb stories there are always rent-a-quotes from suitable semi-professional offenderati who say "OMG I can't believe they did this.  It's just so terrible!   Why on earth do they do this!  Who the hell would do this!"

And not one single joined up piece of rational thought or explanation of why the conduct is actually bad.

As the article says, the main connection in this European fashion show to nooses was suicide, not American lynchings.

And that is just a bullshiat answer for people to be offended.

People that hang themselves don't normally make the thing they use into a noose.

This is a bunhh can of shiat heads biatching about a noose being unhealthy for people with depression and taking agency from those people.

All the while they are at an event that promotes fashion. A thing that causes depression and eating disorders.

If the noose is bad this is the lot calling the kettle black, however IMO this is them trying to divert attention or just biatch about something.

Oh look we can speak for depressed people and the noose but not acknowledge the fact that models and unobtainable body dimensions are a leading cause of depression.

They are clown shoes.

It's a whole ecosystem.

Some fashionputz shows something blandly or arbitrarily "offensive," so that a semi-pro twitterer can work up a faux-outrage about it, so traditional media can have some bullshiat filler to report, so gullible idiots are alerted to the non-problem, so they pay more attention to the fashionputz and the twitterer, so the House of Faux Offense goes on to have another show, and the Fragile Twit feigns outrage again, and the circle of worthless whiny little shiats goes on.

If Jesus had been hanged instead of crucified, nooses would be quite acceptable, and good for repelling vampires.

The Guardian pearl clutching over a cable loop is not a surprise.

Now that hoodie had a proper noose.

Not so easy to come up with a good reason not to, though.

The disingenuous pearl-clutching twits whining about nooses would presumably completely lose their damn minds if they ever caught a glimpse of even something as tame as a Hot Topic or the average metal band t-shirt.

It's inane that fashion folk play "offended for attention," but it's just pathetic to do it with something as bland as a noose design. At least paint sneakers with human blood or something.

Because nooses were never used for anything but to lynch black people in America. European people need to learn this.

No suicides, no hanged witches or thieves or political rebels. They don't exist.

It looks like a loop to me.

Are we no longer allowed to have strings or ropes with loops at one end, without people screaming "It's a noose! You're racist!"

Guess Slipknot will have to change their name next.

Someone better reach out to the Aussie repertory company that calls themselves "Strange Fruit," too. (https://www.strangefruit.net.au) Their home page even touts their "unique elevated medium."
