I still don't get why anyone with bitcoin would use it for food.

You're a college student with a decent gaming computer. You earn $20 a week in Bitcoin by mining while not using your computer.

If you want to transfer that to cash you lose a percentage in transaction fees, cashing out, etc.

If the merchant just accepts it at the exchange rate you get to spend it all and can get an extra Pepsi.

Why wouldn't they spend that money on Taco Bell?

You wouldn't. That's what Dogecoin is for.

How do you get a refund if there is a problem with the food? Does it come in Doge or in dollars? Does the purchase count as buying or as barter?

I want to be able to pay for stuff with Steam points. I could probably buy a new car...

Because it's supposedly going to keep growing in value. Why would you spend $2 worth today if it's going to be worth $5 tomorrow?

You can find money for a taco.

You're preaching to the choir, Hotwing.

I'm just telling you what I know as facts.

Go to the nicehash subreddit and read all the people who use this just for extra income.

There are also people in third world countries who are able to pay for all their food with the small amount of income they get.

Here's a story about how to earn crypto by playing a game on your phone. It's helped out 10s of thousands of People in the Philippines during the pandemic.

Here's a short documentary about it on Youtube.

Also, not everyone has Hotwing plan like you do, bro.

People make it sound like bitcoin is going up 100% per day or something.  This isn't true, it averages out more like 20% per year over the long term, and that rate is slowing every year.  Yes, it is a decent place to park your money, but splurging on McDonalds today isn't costing you a house in a year.

Also, people are notoriously bad with money.
