One thing I'll say about our state, the campaign losers never seem to go away. Literally seems like they try for like 10-15 years for the same thing over and over again before someone else takes their place to do the same.

Diehl is one of those people.

You have the freedom to make that stupid AF choice.
You also have consequences for choosing to shirk your civic responsibility.
ie: Not working, not eating out, no traveling, being shunned as a plaguerat.
Basically a lifetime of shaming and rejection.
All completely justified.
This message needs to be drilled into every pinhead out there.

Pretty dangerous stuff - it's a major component of acid rain, and is found in 100% of cancerous tumors.

Plus, in some cases, confirmation bias.  Some rural towns did go for Trump...if all you see are Trump signs in your little area, you project that to the entire state, or the whole country.

/ignorance and stupidity often both lead to the same place

We need to go back to 1918's precedents for treating maskholes: fines, jail, and beatdowns for those inciting crowds.
The mask wars of the 1918 flu pandemic

As for Diehl, he's apparently being groomed by the CNP for this run.  Charlie had better get serious if he plans on running, or he's about to be blindsided. Along with the citizens of Massachusetts. CNP means serious money, support, and intent - as in Jan 6 serious.  Serious evil, and Geoff is okay with that.  Bannon is a big gun in the CNP, and a major player in Jan 6.

From a wiki page about his history in politics:
"In February 2021, Diehl attended a maskless fundraiser in West Roxbury with Steve Bannon as the special guest. The event broke many state and local COVID-19 rules.[19][20]"

It IS about personal choice, and MY freedom to do whatever the f*ck I want, and f*ck you if you don't like it, and if you suffer the consequences of my actions haha sucks to be you.

If your state is blue and doing well economically, then no recall will work; see also California. The State of Jefferson and the Karens of Huntington Beach really really hated Newsom because he made them mask up and get vaccinated while he went to brunch in Napa Valley without a mask (o my stars!) but meanwhile, CA has tipped the 70% vaccinated point and we can mostly go about unmasked and nearly everything is open--hell, we've started having concerts and live shows again (with masks).

It's just hard to convince normal sane people that your personal issues matter when they're surrounded by proof that the evil government was right.

Just to let everyone here know, if Ed Markey kicks the bucket because he's old AF and boomers wouldn't vote for Joe Kennedy, he's going to be replaced by Diehl in the Senate.
If that happens Fark everyone who voted for Markey.  He needs to retire.
As for Baker, the Dems need a strong candidate.  Baker isn't a Q-idiot, but is a Reagan/Neoconservative/libertarian type.  He's absolutely opposed to single payer health care, considering he was CEO of a major health insurance firm.  Diehl is right out.  I don't think he has a chance to win election in MA.

Baker's spent the pandemic doing a tightrope act.  On the one hand he has the best medical and scientific advice available; on the other, his party ties preclude him from Doing The Right Thing simply because it is the right thing.  So his pandemic measures have been kind of half-assed, which has definitely cost lives.  A lot of people are (rightly) going to say that a state that ranks as highly on education and medicine as Massachusetts does should not be tied with NYC for the second highest case fatality rate from this pandemic (yes, the first wave really farked us up), or ranked third for deaths as a percent of population from March 2020 to August 2021.  (We're only being knocked down in the rankings now because of The South Rising Again (in those rankings).

Any Democratic candidate will likely be seen as more willing to listen to doctors and scientists than Baker, which lowers the bar a bit for them.  And if Diehl were to beat Baker in the primary, that'd pretty much guarantee a D win in the general.

dihydrogen monoxide is so addictive that 100% of all humans will die if they don't ingest it. (but too much will kill you)

dihydrogen monoxide's gaseous form is no less dangerous. It is the main component of nuclear power plants.

dihydrogen monoxide will cause some metals such as sodium and potassium to catch on fire immediately on contact.

Boomers didn't vote for Kennedy over Markey. Kennedy just only offered youth over Markey, which wasn't a selling point.

As for Baker, yeah, he needs to get his ass into high gear if he's going for a third term, and he could win one again if he ran. The Democrats really don't have a strong backbench of contenders with name recognition, unless Kennedy wants to try once more

Pfft.
Kennedy had a cookie cutter platform to Markey.  We are in the middle of a pandemic, and Markey had and still has a reasonable chance of dying in office of covid or something else while GOP governor Baker is in office.  If Markey dies, Baker would appoint a GOP senator.  That would likely be Diehl, although I doubt it now that he's been revealed as a Q-idiot.  However any GOP senator would block the Biden agenda, including filling any new SCOTUS vacancies and possibly overturning the 2024 election for a GQP candidate for POTUS who actually lost the election both by the popular vote and electoral college vote (think Trump or DeSantis).
That would have dire consequences for the country.

Unless Baker sends LtGov Karen Polito to the Senate and makes Diehl LtGov, thus putting him in a position where he can't really do any harm. ;)

If COVID weren't contagious, I wouldn't care other than to have a little chuckle when someone wins a Herman Cain Award..

But it is, so these people are killers.  I don't really care if they kill themselves, but they kill innocent people, too.  They aren't killing innocent people at the same rate as they did last year, thanks to the vaccine, at least.
