I would certainly understand a courtroom full of women suddenly leaping across the courtroom and taking down a few justices. Actions have consequences. Systemically attacking 50% of the population is a pretty reprehensible thing.
Women will die because of the actions of conservative justices.

All of that is true, but I think overshadowed (or caused?) by the massive voter suppression and other shenanigans that mute non-Republican voices, and the outrageous tactics after those leaders are elected.

SCOTUS should have never been stacked like it is, Dems will not do anything to fix it, and the second Republicans get a chance they'll make it worse.  Which the Dems still won't fix.

There's no room for charm to swing anything on the court anymore on any kind of issue that directly and clearly benefits Republican political priorities. Alito and Thomas are immovable right wing cranks. Roberts is irrelevant, and even if he wasn't, the only thing that has held him back from supporting the Republican position every time is his fear of a Democratic reprisal. The Trump-appointed trio of justices were manufactured for this moment to make precisely these kind of decisions.

It is true that the other justices have managed to eek out a few corner cases victories through charming some of the Trumpy tribunal, but that's largely due to the issue at hand in those cases falling far enough away from their Federalist Society programming. The Trump-appointed justices, after all, are not particularly thoughtful or talented jurists and have little experience in thinking for themselves, creating an opening for Sotomayor and Kagan to give them an education. Alito and Thomas being unpleasant, joyless human beings help a lot in this.

But they know exactly what they must do on abortion, unions, taxes, lgbtq, etc. and nothing will move them on those.

They don't become pro-choice. They simply become pro-tortured reasoning that can be used to justify why they should be allowed an exception.

Yeah, good luck. Roe v Wade is dead, and no amount of flattery is going to change the mind of justices appointed specifically to overturn Roe v Wade. And you won't see a liberal majority in SCOTUS for at least 30-40 years.
Don't count on Congress either. This country is hopelessly gerrymandered.

My experience has been the same. I've been trying to get my peers and then younger women to pay attention and vote since the early 80's.

In 2016, a woman in her early 30's told a friend of mine that, "Voting wasn't sexy".
My friend (who's Canadian) said this was the general attitude among the women she worked with.

I've voted in every election since I was old enough to do so. I tried. And now I'm as exhausted as I am disillusioned.

My heart breaks for young women, but especially for those who didn't have the chance to vote to save themselves.

My opinion was always that it's much harder to make changes than to keep things the same. So I donated towards things like gun control that needed more effort, rather than abortion which was already set and needed a big effort to overturn. Obviously I was wrong.

This is so much horsecrap it's incredible - and the people buying it are dumb as a stump.

Rowe v Wade was decided by a REPUBLICAN APPOINTED majority of conservative justices. I was also later upheld by a similar group.

The Texas decision was based exclusively on the fact that the law was not yet in place, and the Court felt it could not yet rule. It was sent back to lower courts.it was NOT 'approved'.

The incredible lies coming from the left are incessant, and the collective IQ plummets every time Biden or Harris speaks - but it doesn't have to impact you. Do Your Homework. Learn Your History. Understand Your Courts. It's not hard.

Roe

was built upon shaky legal reasoning and was bound to fall, eventually.

One of the major failures of the 111th Congress was not bolstering abortion rights.

Slacktivism is across the board, not just for abortion rights. Everyone under 40 these days complains on social media, and tries to "raise awareness" from their keyboards by changing their profile pictures. It's not any moral failing on their parts, it's just what social media has done to the country. Back in the 70's and 80's you had a lot more people who would work relentlessly on one issue for years or decades - voting campaigns, targeting politicians, etc. Nowadays that type of focus is only found on the anti-abortion or QAnon side.

Roe v Wade didn't "pass," it was decided. Instead of fighting a never-ending war over the makeup of the Supreme Court, how about doing what we ordinarily do: enact legislation. Come up with a law regarding abortion and get it through Congress. The desire to short-circuit that process and just have a court do it for you is what brought us to this point, where every Supreme Court nomination elicits prognostications of the crack of doom.

Because then you just eliminate the Supreme court.  And yes, it did 'pass'. It 'passed' the highest court in the land deciding that it was a constitutional right. That's what the Supreme Court is for. And unless you are female, I don't give a fark what you think. As the FEMALE senator from Hawaii pointed out, there are no laws on any books regarding men's bodys. How about a law that allows removal of male genitalia (enuch) for any male convicted of rape? No? Or just the nuts for 2nd violent offense? Offended?
