And how is the federal government going to pay for this?  Well, I hope they take it out of payments to the Florida state government.

Desantis is playing political chess like a grand master here folks, take notes. He's saving the state tens of thousands of dollars that can subsequently be used to replenish the state's emergency strategic horse deworming paste supply.
Because it's not about the money, it's about saving the lives of Americans that love Covid and coughing and also have never heard of rope worms.

Remember...When Florida wins, America wins.

republicans really are traitors to this ridiculous country

It's the state's right to withhold funds. Not their right to tell others not to donate.

This is the BEST free money scam Florida has ever come up with. The more money they withhold from school district leader's pay, the more the federal government just throws at them. It's amazing.

It's funny how you come into a thread about the federal government trying to help out a school district that's been singled out for punishment by their Republican state government for having the temerity to enforce CDC guidelines and wonder about the nefarious things the Democrats are doing

I am sure Florida uses federal funding for stuff Republicans do like. So lets maybe start turning those taps off while they continue to endanger the country and world with their mass culling efforts.

The federal highway funding has been used in the past to bring stubborn states into compliance. Start there.

Would be much simpler to just purge the GOP from the state government. Assuming enough voters are still alive to make that happen.

Every time this asshole withholds and the Feds have to pay, the Feds need to withhold double that amount in funds for DeathSentence's pet projects. Find a way to do it. Otherwise, why would he not withhold from every district if he can get the Feds to pony up.

Nah, he'll lose it again once it hits the courts.  Failure to pay salaries is a big no no for labor law.

I wonder how far this will go. Will the Feds start restoring $$$ to cities that have had state $$$ cut due to rebalancing police budgets? Due to women's rights?

I'd like to personally be reimbursed for the power generator I bought b/c I live in TX.

Golly, gosh, gee whiz! Imagine that, strings attached to governmental money! Whoever heard of such a thing?!? Imagine attaching strings to a grant of government money, like, I don't know, refusing to allow a school board to act in the best interests of its students and teachers based upon the sound science in exchange for receiving the funds already allocated to you under state requirements. Just imagine such a thing! Fark off with your disingenuous wonder.

Every dime, plus a fine, should be withheld from the Federal money that Florida receives for schools.  Huge fines.

The fact that Biden isnt polling well is mind blowing when you consider what Trump was doing every single day. Biden's still in clean up mode and he finished the kitchen and bathroom and swept the floors already. Now he's gonna discover that Trump took a shiat and grinded it in the carpet as he's cleaning and he won't blame him publicly. He will just take care of it cause he's an adult

Both the movie the trailer is for and the events the movie is based on are actual things.

I remember reading about the death at the time.  Did not know a movie had been made about it until today.  I'd expect that there were some threads here on Fark about it.

yeah sorry wrong answer here.
I'm not really into injecting cash into the economy of a sate that demands to fook itself.
I'd be 100% cool with my tax dollars footing the bill to help anyone fleeing political oppression in one state to move to another. yeah i'd be way cool with that monye being pout on the table.

We are just helping that ass clown if we send monye into the state to aid people in staying in that state.
IF your state is so against you, get the fook out of it already and go where the people don't oppress you.
