It's fine. I'll accept the prize by Zoom.

I wonder how many Republicans will win it.

Ignore this post.  I'm just testing my sarcasm meter.

Except that it's not postponed. They cancelled the in-person ceremonies. The winners will still be announced in October, as usual.

I think they're skipping the ceremony out of caution, after Steve Harvey botched the Chemistry award announcement.

So, in other words, Donald Trump was set to win it again with a unanimous decision, but yet another back room LibbyLib executive decided to "postpone" the entire thing due to "Covid" for no other reason than to prevent Donald Trump from winning it.

I can respect decisions like these. No less respect for all those involved in the awards.

I love Nobel week. I'm sure the people being awarded the prizes will be delighted by the accolades of their colleagues than the applause of a black tie crowd.

Ragin' Asian: I love Nobel week. I'm sure the people being awarded the prizes will be delighted by the accolades of their colleagues than the applause of a black tie crowd.

I'd be happy just to get an Ig Nobel nomination

If the woman who pioneered the mrna technology that created the Pfizer vaccine doesn't get the prize for medicine I'm going to be very disappointed.

Can just about guarantee that the chemistry award goes to a biologist, not that they don't deserve the awards. Just beginning to seem like there are now two prizes for physiology/medicine.

Every year, they need to come out and say that Donald Trump won one of them.

And then see how long everyone can keep a straight face before they take it back.

Every year.

Bonus fact: there's a museum dedicated to the Nobel Prize in downtown Stockholm, and the gift shop sells a cookbook with recipes from the Nobel Prize banquets.  As far as I can tell, that book is not available anywhere else (it doesn't even have an ISBN).  If you like cooking, and you ever find yourself in downtown Stockholm, it's worth looking for a copy.

I haven't tried to replicate a complete Nobel Prize banquet, but I have recreated some of the side dishes and sauces from the book, and they are amazing.

/admittedly, some of the ingredients are hard to find outside of Scandinavia
