2fardownthread: jakedata: Meanwhile BJs has a promo where you spend $100 on P&G stuff you get a $25 gift card. I'm stocked up for winter and they paid me to do it. Plenty of Charmin when I went there.

Oh geeze. I hate to be the guy to tell you, but P and G was outed in Mother Jones this week for... ruining the environment with its toilet paper. Yeah. Wrecking our planet. Study it out. Use as much toilet paper as you want, but do not use P and G toilet paper.

Since I am the guy telling you, I guess I should fess up that after leaving my oil shill gig earlier this week and taking a job with bitcoin shorters, I found out that they do not have a good medical plan, and it has no dental, so I have take up shilling for a consortium of environmental groups organized by the Utne Reader. They are paying me ZIP for this message, but if I keep it up, I can get my root canal finished and go back to shilling for Disney, which was my first gig.

Oh. And Toto makes great spritzing toilets too. I am doing this shill for free, but I  WILL put it on my resume.

They can start forest fires for all I care. My b-hole deserves only the best!

Costco is running the same promo, but not worth it as of course you need to buy already-overpriced P&G products, and Charmin is awful TP (too thick and linty).

/The only P&G product I buy is Dawn, when it goes on sale.

The Costcos near me have had the "1 per customer" limit back in place for toilet paper and paper towels since the start of the month. Sadly enough, it's a chicken-and-egg thing; Costco sees the supply chain interruption coming, and puts the limits into place ahead-of-time, and then customers see the limits in place, and instinctively add the item to their shopping, even if they weren't planning on picking it up. (And even if they don't really need it, but of course "Just in case" thinking goes into place.) Thereby creating a shortage before the shortage.

lifeslammer: Whew, got in before the bidet bros come smugly telling everyone how they get light butt action every time they flush and how superior they are to people who dont use them. Never mind that its a worse choice for any single body household because of the different requirements for both, or that the bros still buy and use TP, they are the bathroom vegans and will not rest until the world bends to their will

Have a bidet, it is great, but yes, you still need to use a bit of toilet paper to spot check and whatnot. It doesn't completely eliminate the use of paper. But the amount that we use has been cut by 2/3. Luckily I bought it right before the world ended in late 2019.  I don't know what you're on about by "'s a worse choice for any single body household because of the different requirements..." are you saying that it can't be used by two different people or that it's pointless for a single person? Either way that's dumb. Both male and female can use them. It doesn't just clean the lady bits. It has different buttons on the remote, plus memory settings for customization. The one we have has separate "front and rear" sprays. Plus heated water and seat.

Now on to the actual article: I've noticed at our Costco that they were out of all toilet paper, brand and Kirkland, as well as paper towels, and that was on Monday. We're still good on TP, but need more paper towels.

Weird, I was just at Costco and they had more TP than I'd ever seen them have before. Hundreds of packages stacked to the ceiling. So I'm surprised to see this story.

I got caught at the very start of the pandemic with a low TP supply and ended up paying like 30 bucks for some off brand Chinese TP brand that was horrible, never again.

I now keep 3 to 4 big packs of TP in my house minimum.

I now know why my Grandma, who survived the great depression and WW2, hoarded sugar.
