There is actually one of those planned for Christmas next year, but themed around the Guardians of the Galaxy instead of Star Wars.

The Guardians of the Galaxy celebrate Wookiee Life Day? Will Uncle Itchy make an appearance?

I thought people who subscribe to Disney and then pay an additional thirty bucks to watch a Disney movie were about as dumb as you could get, but now you have to pay to watch Disney's ads too?

If Hiddleston is wagging that sweet ass of his in it I'll pay to watch it.

Seriously though he does have a nice butt. He's also well endowed as well.

If I were to pay 30 bucks to watch a new release, that'd be stupid.
If I were to pay 30 bucks and pass on some of the cost to 2 other people because we're watching it together, we're now paying less than we would if we went to the cinema.

It is all a matter of scale.

As compared to saying fark you, as someone who already subscribes to your channel, I'll just pirate the damn movie?

It's still stupid to pay the 30 dollars in addition to a monthly subscription fee.

This.  Mrs. Samurai and I passed on Mulan and Black Widow, because we can wait.

But a family of four with kids to entertain?  $30 is a bargain compared to what it costs to go to the movies, and there's no limit to the number of times you can watch it.

LOL no.

Stop paying your monthly subscription fee and you can't watch it at all.

I cannot believe people are willing to defend the notion of paying a monthly subscription fee and an extra $30 bucks to see a movie when they aren't going to send you a Bluray in the mail you can keep.

That only works if the only reason you get the subscription is to watch those movies and not, say, National Geographic, all the Marvel stuff, all the Star Wars stuff, Star vs. the Forces of Evil, Gravity Falls, Ducktales, and Pixar.

/And "Mulan" (original), "Moana", "Tangled", and "Emperor's New Groove".

As a Disney+ subscriber who hasn't paid an extra $30 for any of their movies, I prefer this way to raising the monthly fee for everyone. Besides, people still have the option of paying nearly $20 each to go see it in a theater. They don't give Blu-rays out with that, either.

It's $30 to see it now.  You can wait and watch it for nothing more than the monthly subscription.  Why are you so concerned with how people spend their money?  $30 is nothing compared to the cost of going to the theater, with a lot less risk of death.

Also, the monthly subscription is next to nothing.  They could definitely charge more and people would be happy to pay it.

Because the subscription price isn't modelled to include new releases. You'd rather they raise prices on everyone rather than just the people who want to get the new release as soon as it comes out without having to go to the cinema?

Besides, paying for a basic service and paying surcharges for premium services isn't exactly new or anything.
