Greatest year in Boston history?

Pats: Superbowl
Sox: World Series (?)
Kerry: Next President
2004-10-21 12:18:56 AM
Now maybe the NLCS can get some prime time love. Being stuck at the office is no way to experience playoff baseball.

/congrats Red Sox
//go 'Stros

got my AHL tickets.. Go Admirals!

Oh and GO SOX! History is waiting!
2004-10-21 12:19:04 AM
How about that crow, Smookyfufu?
2004-10-21 12:19:09 AM
Correct me if I'm wrong, but in order to have a good rivalry, doesn't each team need to win every now and then? Serves the yanks right for selling out their farm system.
2004-10-21 12:19:13 AM
So who do you think Steinbrener is going to run out of NY now?

Yankess suck.

Go Sox.
2004-10-21 12:19:15 AM
Congrats, Sawx.

Go 'stros!

9-11 makes me want to root for NY...
My nature makes me want to root for the underdog...

My Soul makes me want to watch hockey!
This is what I've been reduced to?!? Someone who can watch baseball on tv! Holy crap! I need some hockey, STAT!!!
2004-10-21 12:19:19 AM
Anyone else think that the Yankees fans are going to burn New York tonight?
2004-10-21 12:19:25 AM
Yeah, the way NY hs played the past four days, the Sox definately deserve the trip more.

I tip my hat to the Sox.

As for most of the Sox fans here... I was hoping for a bit more class from people who were calling Yankee fans "scum" not 24 hours ago. Way to one-up the Yankee fans at the stadium last night.
2004-10-21 12:19:26 AM
That was farking amazing. Best series ever. To all you chowderheads, congrats.
2004-10-21 12:19:28 AM
I wonder what body part(s) robsul82 is gonna give up?

On second thought...
2004-10-21 12:19:31 AM
You know, if you don't like baseball, go wank off in another thread.
2004-10-21 12:19:31 AM
And one more thing...

Steinbrenner damn well better be buying some quality pitchers in the offseason. Our rotation and bullpen both suck.
2004-10-21 12:19:32 AM
Now, if only the Stros can pull it off...Boston vs. Houston...mirroring the presidential election...imagine the fun the press will have with that one.

Go Stros!
2004-10-21 12:19:32 AM
Excellent headline.
2004-10-21 12:19:33 AM
I am an Orioles fan. Any enemy of my enemy is my friend. Go Sox!
2004-10-21 12:19:35 AM
Haha, FredGarvin. How stupid was it that the Yankees fans were chanting "Who's Your Daddy?" when they were down 8-1!?
2004-10-21 12:19:46 AM
4 more games

2004-10-21 12:19:54 AM
I'm a Yankee fan and I will say this... Boston did the impossible and I'm am actually really honored to have shared such an awesome series with them. Naturally, I want to go drown a puppy or something right now but that won't detact from the fact that tonight they were faster, stonger and better and they won. Cheers Boston, this one's on us.
2004-10-21 12:19:56 AM
Nice game Boston. Little A-rod will be crying into his pillow tonight.
2004-10-21 12:20:00 AM
Damon absolutely rocks!
2004-10-21 12:20:13 AM

2004-10-21 12:20:18 AM

"Poor A-rod. Sucks to know you cost your team the pennant, no?"

How did ARod cost them the pennant?
Did he pitch the extra inning games?
Did he pitch to Damon tonight?

I don't get it
2004-10-21 12:20:25 AM
2004-10-21 12:16:33 AM little big man

Terrible headline for a defining moment in baseball's history.

Here here. And with "defecit" mispelled, too.

//Mine: The clock strikes midnight on the Yankees' season, as Bosox win 10-3 to complete Cinderella comeback
2004-10-21 12:20:27 AM

For all those who are calling this the greatest comeback in the history of sports:

Two NHL teams have had equally impressive feats, coming back from 3-0 deficits to win their respective best-of-seven series: The 1942 Toronto Maple Leafs (over the Red Wings) and the 1975 New York Islanders (over the Penguins).
2004-10-21 12:20:33 AM
where's manny's good luck charm?

someone give me a funny pic of him!
2004-10-21 12:20:33 AM
take it from a yankees fan now that the sox are at the big show better not mess it up. as good as this feels not sealing the deal would hurt far worse, take it from someone who has lots of experience.

/misses hockey more than will ever care for baseball
2004-10-21 12:20:42 AM
Hey, wankees fans, tell us who your daddy is now, biatch!

It's so nice to see a bunch of egotistical overconfident asshole bastards get punked.

2004-10-21 12:20:43 AM
one more:
I sensed a great disturbance in the force, as if millions of Yankee fans cried out in terror and then were silent"

Hahaha... hundreds of Boston fans still celebrating in Yankee Stadium, chanting "Who's Your Daddy" at crying Yankee fans...
2004-10-21 12:21:37 AM
Interestingly, the last time the Sox were in a world series was 1986, also the last time this otherwise lifelong resident of boston was out of the state during the playoffs. That said, JESUS H CHRIST WE RULE WOOOOOOO
2004-10-21 12:21:41 AM
My dad kept saying, "It happened at midnight!"

/only funny for jews forced to go to seders
