Expect shiat to get crazier as the 2022 goobernatorial election approaches in TX.

Abbott's pulling out all the stops to foment frenzy among an ever-shrinking rabidly conservative base.

Redistricting is already on this week's Congressional special session agenda, and it's shaping up to be a blatant gerrymandering effort to minimize non-white voters' power.

There's still plenty of time for Federal election laws to pass, assuming Dems can figure out a way to circumvent the filibuster for it.

This seriously could be the best last chance for our democracy to remain viable.

Stop looking for any logic -- these clowns just jump to the desired conclusion, and then jerryrig the logic working  awards from that conclusion.

That's what happens when you stack the state and federal courts with retrograde Heritage Foundation radical ideologues.

Based on my experience in working at a news station and having literally a giant folder on my computer full of police mugshots across three states, the picture of what a person looks like who is more likely to do harm to women and kids is around the lines of a guy who looks like this

And, given that RGB didn't retire under Obama like everybody told her, we now have a SCOTUS willing to hear the nonsense.

For "conservatives" simply making an accusation is the important part.

Doesn't matter how it would work, or whether or not it's true - if you're actually arguing that with them you already lost. They don't care if it's true, the point is simply to continue attacking until they wear you out and get their way.

Ken Paxton is all the proof anybody needs that the GQP is irredeemable, morally bankrupt treason-weasels who will do literally anything for a buck or a vote. I wish these farksticks would simply secede already. They will not be missed by civilization.

1. I'm *sure* they have just tons of peer reviewed articles, and experts with the requisite education and experience that will set forth admissible, factual evidence that demonstrates that non-discrimination policies to protect LGBTQ causes significant harm to the extent that TX can prohibit its implementation at the state level.

I was more focused on all the books he's never opened. It's quite an interesting selection. I'm assuming it's an exhaustive list of all the decisions he agrees with.

For those who haven't attended law school, those books are extensive. Literally every published decision. Grouping your collection in the way he does makes absolutely zero sense. What he's done is like going to a library and checking out books that look good together because they match your chosen color pattern.

Texas Monthly has some insight.    The hispanic voter is not a monolithic block.  There's a lot of machismo out there -- the cult of the strong male who is not a mama's boy or a teacher's pet and finds women a distraction and a nuisance.  LGBTQ is nothing compared to BBQ.

It's a difficult pill for the liberal democrat, especially when there's a whole pack of machos who really don't want more males coming in, from across the border and sees Trump and Abbott have the right attitude.  Just speaking Spanish is not a bond.

LGBTQ folks are human.  If they were to harm women and children, they would do it as humans.  We need to outlaw humans.

It's true. Men spend 10's of thousands of dollars to go through counseling, receiving hormone infections, and surgery just for the chance to see a woman washing her hands.

Sickos.

If he cared so much about women and children why does he not care about the protections provided to LGBTQ women and children?

And furthermore, it the Texas AG cared sooooo much about women, why was he so silently cheering on his cohorts who refused to extend the Violence Against Women act?

Surely if he cared so much about women he would've spoken up then...

But he didn't.

They know exactly how it will harm women and children - they just describe their own fantasies that they want to carry out - you know, sneaking into a restroom or locker room for the express purpose of harming women and children. It's called projection, and we should be pretty concerned about it because these sick farks are out there, waiting for an opportunity.

They have trouble understanding why other people don't act the way they would, never realizing that most of us already do the exact amount of sick, twisted harm to women and children that we desire to do (that we happen to not want to do anything harmful to others never crosses their feeble minds - the concept is foreign to them).

Newsweek adds that Paxton's lawsuit "says that the TDA interprets sex to mean biological sex, rather than gender identity. The complaint says, 'If any employee dressed as a member of the opposite sex, TDA would consider such conduct to be a violation of its standards.'"

But clothing isn't dictated by biological sex, it's dictated by gender.  So clearly and easily I would expect that to hold up in a court of law.  Even if there WAS some kind of way to hold it up, thanks to the internet there's easily a way to get "feminine" clothing that is created and marketed as men's clothing.  The only exception I could possibly think of is safety equipment (a cup) which... okay.

Literally nobody uses the physical books anymore. Having them is just a vanity move. He's just using them as a symbol of "look how smart I am."

If you see a lawyer appearing in front of shelves of books, one of two things is going on:  1) those books are old, not current, and are just for show; or 2) that lawyer is wasting money and is therefore more concerned with their money than yours.
