(Detroit Free Press)   If you're just now waking up in Ann Arbor and find yourself painted blue with a zebra head mask tied to your foot and new pet llama, last weekend was Magic Mushroom Day at Entheofest. Or this could be normal, I guess   (freep.com) divider line

Entheofest...Entheofest...really rolls off the tongue, like a bunch of multi-colored spiders wearing Mickey Mouse masks tumbling out of my mouth LIKE A WATERFALL OF PSYCHEDELIC TRAUMA!

I took magic mushrooms before my drivers license test. I somehow passed with flying colors!

You'll find me there with a blacklight and one of those Spencer's posters.

I've never tried shrooms. It's never too late, I suppose. But I know zero people who would have some. So I guess I'll just go downtown and ask around to random people.

I went to it to catch the last hour. Way smaller than Hash Bash, with about 1000 attendees by my measure. Not commercialized, yet.

It was interesting. Everyone was calm and there were no issues nor police required for anything and no arrests that day. Politicians spoke out about decriminalizing Entheogenic plants state-and-nation-wide (Ann Arbor did it last year) and there is a bill in the MI Senate which would do that (it wont pass, probably). I didn't see anyone who was obviously tripping but certainly we had people wearing psychedelic attire. On the other hand, that isn't very different from a normal day downtown here. I will check it out next year if they do it again, which they probably will.

Some of the speakers were pretty interesting. I particularly liked the older Native American gentleman from the U.P. who told some winding tales and made lots of references to the Colonialist Government we have, heh. Apparently Governor Whitmer appointed that dude to some 4 year post for Art Consultation or some shiat. Dunno if that is true.

In A2, the term "normal" is a little flexible.
