Worse is that the money he had set aside to continue building the wall was stolen by Democrats for ridiculous stuff like this hoax disease.

We need to put an end to the 14th amendment, and anchor babies. Then, we can treat their kids and grandkids as second class citizens, and not have to import new ones.
It would be almost like having your own private stock of human beings to do all your shiat work for you.
Slavery has always been at the heart of the American Dream.

While agriculture does employ alot of Latino workers, it's the shiatty conditions in the rest of the world that drive people here.
I recommend you take a visit to a couple 3rd world countries. You'll be ecstatic to step back into the U.S.

At least we now know Stephen Miller's FARK handle.

Archie Goodwin: I'm guessing he's going to be guarding a cell in Leavenworth for the next few decades.

If you're going to military jail, Leavenworth is the place to go.  The new prison is nice.
When I was stationed there (best damn assignment I ever had) the prisoners cut the grass. Then they stopped. It was determined that having them do lawn maintenance was "too degrading".
Guess who got to do it instead. Go ahead, guess.

Having served in the military I can absolutely see that happening. And I'll bet the prisoners actually loved it, getting outside for a bit.

Every right wing militia that has ever tried to patrol the border themselves has ended up working with the cartels to smuggle drugs and people.  Every single group.  There is just too much money involved and people who have the moral flexibility that allows them to threaten children and families with guns also have the moral flexibility towork for the cartels.

Every few years there is a new group, the right wing media treats them like heroes and pretends like it is a brand new thing, and next thing you know, they get caught smughling drugs.

Why shoukd the Alabama National Guard be any different?

Yeah that seems stupid.  Of course I'm also pretty strongly anti-contractor for basic services provided to units (think laundry, meal prep, etc), because contractors are civilians and now not only are there civilians that have to be protecfted, but each civilian contractor is one more person taking up space that could have gone to someone able to respond with a weapon if things go sideways.

Literally the only way I can think of where it works is if the candidate-pool of labor is so large that each shift's workers can be randomly selected just before that shift, and that the odds of being selected are small enough that there's no way for any given person to have enough of a schedule to make smuggling coordination possible.  This would probably also require banning cell phones except for officially-issued ones with realtime monitoring of all calls, and to have vehicle cameras with high fidelity audio recording capabilities that cannot be disabled without disabling the vehicle itself.

This would deny anyone being at the border long enough to develop contacts with cartels to be corrupted.

Ya know what would be interesting?  What if Mexico legalized and taxed the growing and manufacture of all drugs.  Export only.  It would still be very illegal to import drugs, and to sell them to Mexicans.

It would wipe out the cartels.  It would give Mexico some much needed cash.  As it's legal to do so it would drive the price of drugs way down, thus wiping out the Colombians and Afghans.  And it would give the USA a great big middle finger.

Well that's a quantum, and moronic, assumption.
I guess interviewed immigrants that say they come to America "for a better life" is their way of saying it's great back home.
Here's a hint: get off your couch and do some research. It's a surprisingly common solution to immigration among int'l anthropologists: investing in these countries instead of building walls and crafting laws against immigration. (And in case you missed that, I said SOLUTION to immigration.)

The sad part is that it's only barely pursued. Countries would far rather exploit than invest, so here we are, creating fear of brown people instead of actually addressing the problem.

But hey: run your moronic little narrative.

It takes a lot of Gin to keep wearing that tin. Some of the worst alcoholics I've known were former military Officers.

You might want to take a look at my profile before inviting me to visit third-world countries.
Speaking openly, I actually went through a "well, it's at least better than what they have back home" phase...but with time, and visiting more workplaces, I lost that view.
There are minimum humane conditions that we should take into account, there are minimum safety conditions we should be willing to pay for.
10 people to a bathroom? Meh, some dorms/barracks are worse. I can accept that.
What I can't accept is people not being given bathrooms or bathroom breaks. What I can't accept is people living in areas where you can smell the fresh sewage (sorry, but it's true).

Whether they accept it or not, or whether it's better than where they lived back home is not the issue, my acceptance of it is the issue and is a reflection of ME.
