Is this a 10 til 1 SNL sketch?

Why would I want to live there when a giant hand is terrorizing my kitchen?

Those aren't tiny homes, they're dollhouses.  A tiny home is a 500 square foot place.  I've thought about buying one up in the mountains near a lake.

But ... can the dolls eat that food for real?

Christ. What an asshole.

But the mancave was really nice.

It's above our budget, but I think we could swing it if my ant farm training business takes off.

So a dollhouse worth more than my place, gotcha.

If you're good at what you do and there's a market willing to spend, get paid.

Get Rich or Try Dyin': [Fark user image image 425x239]

Just watched the show for the first time last week so this is quite satisfying

Barbara and Adam Maitland are unimpressed.

If I were rich I'd have one of these in my garden with its own plumbing and electricity and heating bill. And I'd be as insufferable as the artist about it.

You know the folks dropping $200K for a fully-furnished dollhouse are likely the same folks stepping over & complaining about the homeless.

Good for the artist for using his skills to provide for him and his family.

Fark every rich leech on society who buys these.

Probably have some inbred dog worth thousands that they waste thousands on.

We aren't meant to make it as a species.

But at least they're giving 200,000 to a craftsman and not their Cayman bank account.

Nice

To be fair most murcans are a bit slow.

Think of why Foxhole news is so influential.  They keep repeating the same lies over time which makes the lies seem more truths given enough exposure

I do the same, on a much smaller platform, only i use the truth over and over.  Im hoping it might catch on in 10 or 20 years.

The craftsman is well into the 1% bracket.  So the mega rich are paying the just merely rich.

That's usually the gig.

Isn't the goal to sell skills to the person willing to pay the most for your time?

Am I doing this wrong?

Yep. And these have a better chance of increasing in value than what you see on DIY.

I've only ever thought about one as a vacation property, essentially the land would be worth more than the house on it.  But yeah, they'd make terrible investments.  It's something that would almost have to be custom built for any given owner to actually live in full time because different people would sacrifice space in different ways.

Yep. They are essentially trailers that are almost too heavy to tow. RVs depreciate like cars, as do these silly-ass tiny homes.

My FIL is building one now and I can't for the life of me figure out why. A slab foundation is an extra 5K and then the bank will loan you $ for it.
