Easy fix. Supremacy Clause would put federal enforcement of law above the state. The way Biden put this within OSHA is within the letter of the law. I'd tell UAB folks to either get vaccinated or be prepared to get skull farked every week. Then, I'd tell those conservative crybaby mfers to get lost.

I also suspect that behind the scenes there were high-dollar donors pitching epic fits of the type that only intrusive southern college football backers can.

Moot.

Last month the Supreme Court ruled Indiana University could do this by upholding a federal court ruling that said the university could do this.

FWIW the federal court ruling written by a Trump appointee who brutally took the antivaxxers apart with a verbal hacksaw.

The U of Alabama is craven weak sauce.

It'll never happen, and I'm not sure it's legal, but tell UA, either you have the mandate, or your school isn't eligible for students using FAFSA, or Pell grants.

Ignorant bastards. I would say Thanks for ruining our state, but others have beat you to it.

It's the home of a Medical School, for pete's sake. UAB needs to tell the conservatives to take their booga-booga toys someplace else.

Doesn't matter if it's legal. Don't pay it anyways and force the 3 year legal fight through every level of appeals. Even if the government loses, the damage will be done and irreversible

Alabama made history in 2020 when more deaths were recorded than births, The New York Times reported. Saturday

And yet they get so very upset, or melty as the kids say, when you point out that they're the quintessential self solving problem.

Walker: Alabama is currently losing population due to its COVID death rate being higher than its birth rate, so please continue idiots.

https://www.wsfa.com/2021/09/16/alabama-health-officials-give-covid-19-update-friday/

In an effort to keep those with COVID-19 from getting sick enough to need hospitalization, Alabama has been working to increase the number of locations that provide monoclonal antibody treatments. However, the federal government is now tightening control over product allocation.

On a call Monday afternoon with health leaders from every state that federal officials announced that all monoclonal antibody products would have to be ordered through states' health departments, not through antibody providers, and that each state would be allocated shipments based on their case numbers, Harris said.
Harris added that federal authorities have explained that if a state doesn't use at least 70% of what's ordered, that state's future supply shipments will be decreased.

Harris said the change has caught every state off guard and said there will probably be some patients who will need the treatment but will be unable to get it due to shortages.

Meanwhile we are drowning in vaccines.

Alabama's vaccination rate continues to increase. About 1.9 million residents are now fully vaccinated, pushing the state over the halfway mark in terms of those who are eligible for the shots. That moves Alabama ahead of three other states. Additionally, Alabama has 2.3 million residents who have taken their first dose, ahead of eight states in terms of first doses.

At least they brag about being in the bottom ten of 50 states so progress?

If you're a sane person in AL, go get a 3rd dose under a fake name.

You're going to need all the antibodies you can get to fight off the attacks from the plague rats this winter.

This is what happened. A rich donor threatened to withdraw an endowment and the school folded like a cheap suit.
