Hemp is a gateway crop.

Yes. They called it ditch weed and I literally slammed on the breaks when I notice miles of it in Kansas. As a Californian the sight of so many "pot" plants that were so big was something from a fantasy dream. I loaded up the Datsun with as much as I could pick and went straight home hoping no cop would notice the massive amount of greenery in the car. Anyway a month went by before the leaves and meager buds were dry enough to smoke. Smoke I did. Regret I had. Headache even more. Trash it went.

/ Fark you Kansas and your "fake" weed.

My friend Becky went to a party and picked her own hemp. She met a doctor, married him and had three kids. Because it didn't get her high. She did try to inject it, though. Not a bright girl, that Becky, I mean, Mrs. Goldstein.

Do you drink 'beer' out of the runoff from grain fields too?

I grew up in north central Illinois. There was hemp growing in end rows since the war. Farmers never mentioned it because the cops would show up and destroy crops trying to get to it. I didn't know much about the life cycle then. But I brought an oz of cbd flower in New Mexico last month and it seems ok.

Dr. Hypno CBD seeds produce excellent hemp flower to smoke. Short plants, good yields, 15% cbd, 1% thc. Makes terrific cbd butter very easily. Plant 2-5 every year and will continue to do so.

I think a lot of farmers do some pretty fun stuff in the "back 40".

My shop sells a wide variety of great hemp flower by East Fork Cultivars. There are some good ones out there, but the exception rather than the rule. Washington's hemp was certainly gnarly stuff. :)

Yes.  That upland, Santa Marta, Colombian "hemp" provides similar 'two hit' and out the door, all revved up, to work.

Around these parts, those in the know have been 'salting' native hemp stands with seeds of 'high test' MARIJUANA  as the stuff is quite promiscuous (might push a 1% THC up the ladder to 3-4% in the vicinity of the 'volunteers' over a few seasons).

DEA went absolutely over the edge when the Farm Bill passed.  Bastids had never had to test the THC levels during annual eradications/burns - just call ALL of it Marijuana and pat themselves on the back.  DEA's website, subsequent to Bill's signing, was soon posting calls for contractors to submit plans for 'mobile' testing machines, to check farm trucks loaded with WEED? (or is it 'rope'?).

Pick your own hemp?  Without a way to visually 'scan' plants for THC level (or lack thereof) Who The F*ck Knows without subjecting sample to mass spec/gas chroma?

/give me ten pounds of that Thai/Maui 'hemp', thanks?
//F*ck CBD (YMMV)

There are a few farmers in my area that grow Hemp and one of the farmers said to me once that if he had a dollar for every time someone stole one of his plants he'd make more money.

Yes but it was supposed to be THC hemp.

Also epigenetics is real.

They make Delta-8 from CBD. It is a chemical process. I find that Delta-8 makes me anxious and my heart beat quickly. It is not like Delta-9.

I kept telling my friends, guys that isn't weed. It looks like weed, it smells like weed, but that's hemp. They had the exact same experience you did.

The field of hemp we saw was planted and maintained on farmland by the local community college we attended as some kind of experiment. They had to have a zillion permits to be allowed to do it at the time (late 90's) and they had a farking exhibit at the school describing the whole endeavor, and a sign at the side of the road put up by the college as well. We drove by the field twice a day. My friends STILL couldn't believe it wasn't weed - these plants had crown buds about 8-10 inches long. So, one day at harvest season, they stopped the car, hopped the fence, scooped up about 5 pounds of crown bud and laughed like they won the lottery.

California native. Been picking my own 'hemp' on weed since mid '70's. Legal now, 6 plants from seeds from friends teaching 3rd gereation the trade. Know where your smoke comes from and avoid suprises!

Growers are going to have to go indoors as hemp gets more popular. It's bitter sweet.

I'm going to plant 6 monster sativas next spring as part of the landscaping. I don't care about smoking it, I have better sources.
