What if I was Pfizer round one (first two shots) and want a Moderna booster?

You'll have to lie.

I'm up to the public comment part of the meeting and it is terrifying.

You'll also have to fund some studies on whether that combination is safe, effective and more effective than simply getting boosters of the same brand you already had.

Why are we talking boosters when MUCH of the world hasn't had anything?

Because the US bought significantly more than it needed, at least partly planning for this potential outcome. This is sort of like asking why are you eating stuff out of your fridge when there are people starving in other places.

Starvation doesn't mutate into more dangerous variants.  In my not-so-humble opinion, the best thing America can do now to protect its population against COVID-19 is to get as many people vaccinated as possible, both at home AND abroad.

They voted yes on those 65+ or at risk of serious disease. I personally think for now the cdc should say immunocompromised, 65+, high risk and healthcare workers need boosters. It would keep third dose needs reasonable, protect those that really need protecting and give themselves more time to collect real world data.

That being said, I'm high risk and a health care worker so I'm a bit biased about this. 🤷🏼♀

I wonder why they picked 65 and up when the data from Israel was 60 and up.
