I never could get into the comic, but I'm enjoying the show so far.

Yeah, but whose going to take out the garbage, move heavy things, open jars, or grab things from the top shelf?

Women are such short-term thinkers.

If Sybian starts making lawnmowers, men are doomed.

Men have been automating themselves out of jobs for centuries. We won't miss them when they're gone.

Y'all better get better representation in STEM, then, because with men doing the automating it's more likely women will become redundant first.

Maybe one day we'll be going to the store to buy a lab-grown egg cell to put our own re-mixed DNA into for implant into our sexbots for gestation.

Why in the ever loving fark would you want to get a sexbot preggers?!  I'm pretty sure the great filter is the invention of sexbots.

For some people it's a fetish.  For others, it could just be a practical use for that spare sexbot you got bored with and left in the back room of your basement years ago.

Look at the track record. Every time a job is automated, it's thousands of men in tears about their lost jobs. Women aren't concerned about men slowly disappearing.

It's called the "Y" chromosome because the person who discovered it said, "Y is it so small?"

/yes, that is what she said

Historically, that's because men have been doing the work (whether that's because women were forcibly excluded or not being irrelevant).  Women who depend on men are going to start having the same issues as men who have redundant skill sets.

Whoever builds the automation systems that fully replace men will rule the world, and I suspect the vast majority of people - men and women - will not be happy about it.  But more women than men, because human nature shows that when all else fails, women can be prostitutes.  Men are less desired in that role.  If women replace men, we disappear.  If men replace women, women get to work really hard at giving better head than a sexbot if they want to live, and it won't be fun.

How long have mammals been using Y chromosomes for sex determination?  I suspect that there is some mechanism for putting the Y chromosome back again.

If current trends are any indication, each of the robot platforms will at one time or another announce that it is banning sexual content, creating job opportunities for women while men try to figure out which of the other platforms is least likely to ban sexual content next.

Weird thing is that she discovered it in an insect; had it been an insect that used one of the other systems of sex determination, that would have set back the understanding of human genetics for a while.

As evidenced by the fact that history appears to end shortly thereafter, according to the graph.

SciShow has good content but the way they edit out all the pauses in the host's speech really bugs me it just becomes one big run-on sentence just so the video can be 12:06 long instead of 12:18 it's like that really annoying friend you have that never shuts the fark up.

We've been automating women out of jobs as well. At some point we'll automate them out of child bearing as well.

A good knowledge of how sex and gender operate across other forms of life, even here on Earth, would probably horrify most Trumpservatives.  They'd have to face the idea that their man with a beard in the sky is flexible.
