Let us hope so.

I think it's great that every loser claims he lost because election was rigged against them. Every time one cries 'Wolf' dilutes its effectiveness.

When you see one as a sore loser, you are on the way to seeing all of them that way

2021-09-16 5:33:42 PM
Not all of them. Some of them died of COVID-19 -- exposing them as secret liberals trying to make Trump look bad.

Yep. Voting is for commies.

You would have thought they would have learned their lesson after what happened in Georgia, when Trump said "Don't vote, it's rigged!" so a racist Christian state ended up electing a Jew and a Black man to the Senate.

2021-09-16 6:04:02 PM
Their goal was to usher in disenfranchisement of non-Republicans. It didn't matter if they lost votes as long as the other side lost more.

2021-09-16 6:05:41 PM
This "election is rigged" crap is only going to get worse now that they're losing elections because they killed their base. "This district has voted for a Republican for 50 years and now a Democrat won? It's rigged." No, the problem is you told the grandmas who voted for you to take horse dewormer and iodine and - surprise! - and they're all dead now.

2021-09-16 6:05:41 PM
As long a Americans make sure Democrats don't vote, I don't need to take the time out of my day (because.,, you know, I work) to vote

It turns out that when you tell people that their vote doesn't count...sometimes they stop voting all together.

Shhhhhh!

I think that many repubs are suffering under the misapprehension that their opinions and views are shared by like a 90% majority of the voting public.
They drank so much of their own koolaid for so long that they think their piss is supposed to be that color. I think theyre honestly surprised that they cant win every election in a huge landslide. Theyve been in that echo chamber so long that its all they know now, they dont even realize that there is still a world outside of foxnews.

The demographics have been headed that way in GA for years now. I think it came as a little bit of a surprise that it happened so fast, but it was inevitable. But give Stacey Abrams and her crew credit.

The GQP is now resorting to mind-control tactics (cult-driven rules and conspiracy theories) to push their agenda, and they've managed to peel off a small segment of the moderate population, to some mild success.

It's unclear how successful that will be. I think in general there are a ton of people pissed at both parties for not doing anything significant in Washington. It remains to be seen how 2022 will turn out.

They also learned in GA that they can pass a law allowing the legislature to ignore elections and it won't get stopped. GA became permanent red at all levels after that election. The right no longer cares about voting in the slightest, they're just locking in power by tautology now.

Dear Dark Gods Below,
I don't ask you for much but please let this happen.

2021-09-16 6:24:26 PM
i'm still waiting for the absurd 'vote in the Dems to own the Libs' slogan to come out of one of their pie apertures.

you know, because they're that dumb.

2021-09-16 6:31:10 PM
We should make voting compulsory  and then get totally owned when they refuse and start stigginit to the libs.  I know I would be sooo owned.  I can't even begin to tell you how owned I would be.

"Youngkin said the effort is designed to establish legal voting standards in election processes."

Legal voting standard:

• 18 years of age
• US citizen
• registered in the county in which you live

That's it -- that's the standard. Everything else should be about the state making it as easy as possible for anyone fitting that description to exercise their franchise.

They think I'm crazy, but I know better. It is not I who am crazy. It is I who am MAD! Didn't you hear them? Can't you see the crowds?

2021-09-16 6:36:46 PM
But have they started to notice that people are seeing how shiatty their candidates are that they put up for us to choose on?

I know some decent humans who are in the GOP camp, why they don't run for anything higher than the town councils and mayoral positions is beyond me, but it's just an embarrassment.  Hell I'm in Cawthorne's district and a part of me REALLY want's to run against him, but I'm sure all of my fark posts would come back to haunt me, lol.

This.

Their long term isn't about winning elections.  Their rhetoric about arming yourself and defending your way of life isn't just hyperbole.

They're already passing laws to ignore the will of the voters.  Their bet is nobody is going to stand up to them when they blatantly just do it.  See Ohio's justifications.

Their plan hasn't been about winning for a long time.  It's been about getting their base into a heads pace that they think they're under attack and willing to take up arms against their own country.

Next step - no elections at all. The default republican position now is that the only two logical outcomes of any race are a republican victory or a stolen seat, so why spend the money.

2021-09-16 6:53:42 PM
Let's face it: elections are anathema to the feudal aristocracy of land-owning, straight, white, Christian men that the GOP is pushing for.

"If the only race that counts is the primary, then amping up the election-was-stolen rhetoric may help," said Republican donor Dan Eberhart.

Rhetoric.

Election fraud is not "rhetoric" you twatwaffle. It is not supposed to be a campaign strategy.

But this is where we are now. Republicans believe accusations of corrupt elections are just another acceptable campaign strategy. The only thing that matters is gaining and keeping power, and the ends justify the means.

Yeah, the idea is to poison the well.

The GOP calls wolf over and over, so when they actually do something everyone will think the Democrats are just crying wolf.

And then the sheep get eaten.

I wonder if this happened with the census too. Just think, the triple whammy of covid, damaging their own voter turn out, and not getting an accurate count of people might be enough to royally fark up their gerrymandering efforts. That reliable 51% might end up being 49 or 48%.

I think I'd have a literal orgasm if that happens.

I ain't espired by anyone cept Trump. If he ain't on the ballot I ain't voting. Period!!

The GOP was so busy attempting to scare the undocumented from filling out the census they didn't realize it was also scaring their base from filling out the census.

Why vote when you can have an armed insurrection?

real_headhoncho: Why vote when you can have an armed insurrection?

I got a suspicion that the GOP is gonna try real hard to rephrase that as "Why *not* vote when you can *not* have an armed insurrection" after this weekend winds up with a lot of people trying violence & getting shut down.
