It is almost as if the author wants to shame the countries that focus on elimination over those who favor social murder.

In the long run, actions like those in the US and Europe will pull down other countries.

It's not that. It's that "zero covid" countries usually lag behind in vaccination. The strategy works well only if you are very strict. The smallest slipup and you get a surge

If you remove all the dikes in the Netherlands will the water stay out all by itself?

the nations with the healthiest populations ( 31% of murcans are obese, acc. to the CDC - its considered an underlying health condition) will fair the best with Covid.  the nations with the most underlying health conditions will fair the worst.

the TV doesn't know anything about that, though.

lolmao500: Unless you vaccinate like 90% of the entire population... children included... you gonna get farked by COVID if you reopen.

that is also dependent on how healthy the population is.  i know of only 2 out of about 10 or 12 or so who got covid and had to go to the hospital.  the rest said it was like a weird flu and got better on their own.

The TV may argue otherwise.

The Kiwis have been clearing about 10% of their active cases per day.  I expect they will get it back to zero.

Victoria Australia has a huge compliance issue which is keeping it going.  New South Wales didn't lock down fast enough even though they had data on what worked.  There are way too many essential workers running around and the workers at the local grocery stores seem to have forgotten how to wear a mask since about half aren't covering their nose.

NSW has a problem that Covid is now in Aboriginal communities and that is going to kill a lot of people.  A doctor I know works on vaccinations in rural areas and said there was a huge pushback from the local communities but the poor health of most people combined with lack of access to medical care will result in a lot of deaths.  There is also a problem that many grandparents are the sole care taker for young kids so when grandma gets sick, the kids don't eat.  He said the average elder has 3 comorbidities with quite a few of them in their 40s.  The small hospitals in WA are more than a 3 hr drive to the next one so access is a real problem. Will Gladys be the 1st woman to get a genocide named after her?
