It's probably safer for him not to drink his cup of tea, honestly. Less likely to have unusual amounts of polonium

Remember, Lenin was a communist who told the party leadership to specifically NOT let Stalin take control.

Think about how horrible communism is.

Now think of how much *worse* unhinged capitalism and fascism must be to make people hear about communism and go "Yup, sounds like an improvement, let's do it." Because that's the one-line version of how pretty much every communist revolution, from 1918 Russia onwards, worked. And the one-line explanation of why the labor movement in 19th/20th century western countries, by ending unregulated capitalism, prevented communist revolts where Marx predicted they would start, while they ultimately boiled over in autocratic (usually agrarian farmer) societies with no such mechanisms.

And now that the fascist kleptocrats (and don't have any doubts, that's what Putin's gang are) have stolen everything in Russia's sphere that isn't welded to bedrock with no sign of relenting, we're at the 'waiting for revolt' stage.

Economic policy doesn't matter nearly as much as who is in charge.

When you have an intelligent, compassionate leadership, you get intelligent, compassionate Capitalism/Communism/Socialism

When you have corrupt leadership, you have corrupt Capitalism/Communism/Socialism

Starvation was a Stalinism thing.  He was pretty right wing.

/next topic: the People's Democratic Republic of Korea is not democratic, a republic, or for the people

...which is why they gave Stalin the least important job, the secretary.  Then Stalin realized that being secretary meant that he got to decide who was told to come to whatever meetings, and built/consolidated power.

Around that time was the Great Depression.  As some put it, "we were starving here, no work, and the newsreels from Russia showed factories running flat out"

The communist party of the Russian federation is a long way from the party of the 1930s, much less 1917. It just a handful of pensioners that are content to work with united Russia. They might say some vaguely  communist sounding things, but that's about all they're actually willing to do. Their popularity is lower than putin and most Russians under the age of 40 give them zero thought.
