Linux_Yes: sit at home apple stock owners swoop in for the Win!

Dude, you really need to get a life and identity that doesn't revolve around Apple.

If I could sit at home and do nothing simply by owning AAPL, I would.  Probably should have bought a thousand shares when the movie Forrest Gump came out.

ImpendingCynic: I was hoping for a new SE so I can replace my ancient phone. I don't know if it will hold out until spring, but I'd like not to have a 2 year head start on end-of-support.

I have the current SE. I would like to have Magsafe charging (which it lacks) but I do not want FaceID. I would also like to have USB-C instead of Lightning, although this is less of an issue with the wireless charging.

Sorry, Apple. There was nothing in this event which tempted me to open my wallet.

Personal phone: XR, work phone: 7+ here.

No issues as well. I'm running latest beta of 15 on the work phone and it runs fine.

I'm up for a new personal phone next month and might get a 12 Pro Max or whatever it's called, just to have a better camera.

Redesign? What, did they rounder the corners or sharpen them?

They don't pay you to complain about capitalism.  Get back in there and clean that grease trap, you're on the clock.

I've had my 8 for over 3 years now.  I had them replace the battery back in the spring, so figure it's good for another 1-2 years.  It still works great.

My trusty MacBook is closing in on 10 years old. I'm actually amazed that it's held on so long... I upped the RAM from 4 to 16 3 years ago, swapped the HDD for an SSD 2 and replaced the battery 2 years ago, and... the damn thing just keeps going.  I'm debating handing it off to my son and buying a new M1 MacBook.  Option it out to 16 GB RAM and a 2 TB HDD and it'll hopefully last me for years to come.

Excessive?  Perhaps, but buying a laptop that lasted a decade impressed the hell out of me.  Gone are the Toshibas and Dells I would buy in the aughts that started falling apart in 3 years... loose/broken hinges, keys falling off, screen malfunctions, motherboards on the fritz.  For something that's dependable, I'm going to splurge for what I want.
