Dude, you really need to get a life and identity that doesn't revolve around Apple.

Personal phone: XR, work phone: 7+ here.

No issues as well. I'm running latest beta of 15 on the work phone and it runs fine.

I'm up for a new personal phone next month and might get a 12 Pro Max or whatever it's called, just to have a better camera.

If I could sit at home and do nothing simply by owning AAPL, I would.  Probably should have bought a thousand shares when the movie Forrest Gump came out.

I'll stick with my XR for another year or so.  It does everything I need it to do, so no point in plunking down change on a new one.

I had a 6 for several years and finally replaced it with a 12 Pro earlier this year since I needed iOS13. I was considering getting a Max but I'm glad I didn't; this one is large enough that I can barely use it with one hand, and it barely fits in my pocket. So it might be good to go check one out in person before deciding.

I will get one of the new Minis when they come out. I have an ancient 2nd-gen and it comes in very handy for travel; it will be nice to get one with more storage and cellular data.

Thanks for the advice -- I'll do that before upgrading.

I just bought a used 2nd Gen iPad Pro a few months ago-- but I'm really wishing I'd have held off because it's honestly just too much for what I actually use it for. Those new Mini's look damn tempting. I did not see that coming at all and figured they were going to kill off the Mini altogether.

I was hoping for a new SE so I can replace my ancient phone. I don't know if it will hold out until spring, but I'd like not to have a 2 year head start on end-of-support.

I have a two year old phone that is doing just fine. It replaced a six year old phone that was worn out. This update isn't enough to make me think about upgrading.

No new mac mini.  So disappointed since I want to get one by the end of the year.

This was an iPhone/iPad/Watch event, no mac's at all were going to be discussed here. That's a later event, though the mini was refreshed last November, so I wouldn't really hold my breath.

For the price or the size? If it's for the size, the 13 Mini has about the same dimensions as the SE (it's actually a little smaller). If it's for the price, then yeah... probably need to wait until next year's refresh.

30fps - 60fps video
A14 - A15 chip
+2hrs battery life

Maybe I missed something else but did Apple think that this is enough to upgrade to?

Especially when you consider that folks looking to upgrade can now get a version of the 12 that is very similar a 100 dollars cheaper!

There's a new model coming out this fall, but I don't know exactly when.

$50 cheaper if you get the same 128GB storage.

The A15's CPU performance is rumored to be the same as the A14's, whereas it's GPU and ML performance increased noticeably.

For the price. I use it as a phone, a browser, and a notepad. I can barely justify (or afford, right now) an SE.

I have the current SE. I would like to have Magsafe charging (which it lacks) but I do not want FaceID. I would also like to have USB-C instead of Lightning, although this is less of an issue with the wireless charging.

Sorry, Apple. There was nothing in this event which tempted me to open my wallet.

Redesign? What, did they rounder the corners or sharpen them?

The coolest thing was moving to a high refresh rate screen while increasing battery life.

How many hours of battery life did the Pixels and Samsungs of the world lose when they did the same thing?

They don't pay you to complain about capitalism.  Get back in there and clean that grease trap, you're on the clock.

I've had my 8 for over 3 years now.  I had them replace the battery back in the spring, so figure it's good for another 1-2 years.  It still works great.

My trusty MacBook is closing in on 10 years old. I'm actually amazed that it's held on so long... I upped the RAM from 4 to 16 3 years ago, swapped the HDD for an SSD 2 and replaced the battery 2 years ago, and... the damn thing just keeps going.  I'm debating handing it off to my son and buying a new M1 MacBook.  Option it out to 16 GB RAM and a 2 TB HDD and it'll hopefully last me for years to come.

Excessive?  Perhaps, but buying a laptop that lasted a decade impressed the hell out of me.  Gone are the Toshibas and Dells I would buy in the aughts that started falling apart in 3 years... loose/broken hinges, keys falling off, screen malfunctions, motherboards on the fritz.  For something that's dependable, I'm going to splurge for what I want.
