are you trying to imply that an unmanned camera mounted to watch their livestock pen was actually a person standing still and decided to watch how things would unfold and not worry about protecting their food?

It's like those invisible doormen that open the doors for you when you enter or leave a supermarket. Do you think they wouldn't open the door if the person leaving just shoplifted a ham from the meat department? No, they're just doing their job without interfering, much like that cameraman.
