Why does NH have 400 Store house representatives? Does everyone that lives there get a time to be a state representative?

Welcome to the party, pal.

PS: Your party has been nuts since Nixon's Southern Strategy (most likely, before).

And, as much as certain left-wing Farkers would stomp their feet about, they'd probably get votes from all sides of the political aisle in a re-election bid.

Because they're not crazy.

The party of Lincoln and Eisenhower is now full of people waving around Confederate and Nazi flags.Any among them that has any scrap of principles left has either left, is leaving, or will soon leave. The important thing is that we don't act like snobby arseholes ourselves and drive them right back over to the dark side.

So ... they both switched to Republican, and one switched back. So there are no examples of someone starting out as Republican and becoming a Democrat? Yeah, that doesn't surprise me.

I'm still trying to figure out why New Hampshire's House of Representatives has 400 members.

I'd say fire 90% of them and save money, but I make more in a year than all 400 put together.

After redistricting I am losing my state rep that I actually like and wish she could continue to by my State representative. Need to find a person that is sane and rational in favor of acting in best interest of residents. Problem is the job pays for shiat,no real office budget or independent power but can subject a person to a public anal exam of their lives and possible actual deaths from the nut jobs.

He will be the same republican, just with a D in front of his name. He is not doing this because he has come around to Democratic party ideas, but because it is not popular to have an R in front of your name anymore, and he wants to win an election.

With that being said, this is probably the most republican thing he can do.

Same thing happened in Louisiana with Democrats switching to the GOP.

Yes.

They could also just say "Oh, fark you Mitch, I'm giving Schumer my vote on the recon package" and there isn't a damn thing the GOP could do about it.  That there haven't been a half dozen just shows how broken our politics is.

The NH legislature is essentially a really large representative Town Meeting.

Salary for all 424 legislators (400 house, 24 senate) is fixed at $100.00 per year.

Most towns (not the cities) are governed by direct town meeting, where all residents of legal age are automatically members.

So true popular vote decides everything in the towns?

So we could have another Joe Manchin? Yeah, that'd be awesome.

What's the point of a Democratic Party that has to appease Republicans?

This is a bad thing, not a good thing. The last thing the Democratic party needs is more open white supremacists in positions of power. The correct redemption arc for these filth is to include a recommendation to vote for somekne decent next time in their suicide notes.

Often.  P.J. O'Rourke has a bit about it in his book, Parliament of Whores.  Bit dated, still funny and informative.
