Are you suggesting that a company would lie? For what reason?

Biden, who is renowned for sharing memories that did not happen,

Stopped reading right there.

From Merriam-Webster: renown noun
1 : a state of being widely acclaimed and highly honored : fame
2 obsolete : report, rumor

Obviously, the Post is using definition #2.

My resume says I worked on Porkies.  It was Porkies' Pork Farm.  You wanna know what a gaffer does on a pork farm?  You DO NOT want to know what a gaffer does on a pork farm.

The company I work has been around for over a century. I'm sure if I walk into into HR and ask for job applications from the 60's they'll just hand them right over. This is moronic. What percentage of companies that have been around that long would even still have the records?

There aren't even records anymore of jobs I actually had much less the one's I interviewed for.

Because they'd have records from the 60s.

fark the post, stop giving that shiatrag another voice.

Oh yeah? Well, in 1978 I opened a Christmas Club savings account at People's Bank of Bradfordsville. I cashed it out seven months later. Five acquisitions later, that bank is now part of Wells Fargo and they have no record of my account! Why?! Too big to care?

/non-story is a non-story, whodathunkit?

What? Your company didn't prioritize digitizing 20+ year old job applications, even those that weren't accepted, when they moved their records to computers in the 90's?!

It would definitely be unreasonable to expect companies to have records dating to the 18th century.

Say, you remember that guy we hired 40 years ago?  Wasn't his name Biden?  Could that be the same Biden that's on the tv right now?  Might be.  We called him G I Joe Biden cause it was just after the war and he came through town in a fatigue jacket and a big huntin' knife.  If I recall correctly, he wound up shooting up the town with an M-60.  Only guy that died though fell out of a helicopter - a death not directly attributed to G I Joe Biden.

Curt, you thinking of a movie?

He built that iron suit.

Curt, take your pills.

The same idiots on Fox News who were quite obviously squirming in discomfort through one of Trump's rambling hour long phone calls when he was President are treating every utterance Biden makes as evidence that he is deep in the throes of dementia.

Buried 18 paragraphs into the article:  "We had a diverse portfolio in the '60s and early '70s ... so my guess is any records have been purged or transferred for the businesses/projects we are no longer involved in,"

Seems the Post is relying on its readers not to skim past the headline and instead get distracted by the cleavage pictures on the top two photos on the right of the article.  brb

"...renowned for sharing memories that did not happen"

Seriously?? The NYP is concerned about inconsequential fibbing about a job 50 years ago in an attempt to relate to the area?

But zero mention of Trump gaslighting his 9/11 activities gets no mention -- or the 30,000 other lies he told while in office, and the 1000 or so, at least, that he's told since he's been out of office.

You'd think they would keep the application of a future President though. Did they know something at the time that we didn't? Or has Biden completely fabricated the whole story about applying for a job 40 years ago in order to further his own agenda?

Shiat, I've been offered jobs by people who didn't remember the next day. Of course they don't have records about it 40 years later.

P.S. Never accept a job from a drunk guy.

"I used to tell Frank Church this, I got a - my first job offer, where I wanted - my wife, deceased wife and I wanted to move to Idaho because we - not a joke - it's such a beautiful, beautiful state. And I interviewed for a job at Boise Cascade," Biden said.

I'd be more concerned that he talks like Grampa Simpson on 'ludes.

I worked with a guy for 6 months every day. Called the other day less than a year later and he happened to answer the phone. He had no idea who I was.

President Biden said at a wildfire-focused event in Idaho Monday that his "first job offer" came from the local lumber and wood products business Boise Cascade, but the company says it has "no record" of that being true.

Fed requires companies to keep resumes on file for one year.

I can guarantee you that large companies purge their files as soon as that time limit has expired.

Of course they have no record.
