Putting the year 2192 into perspective, my great grand children will have to deal with it, doesn't seem like it is too much in the future.

Well 2182 is as far into the future as 1860 is in the past. That is slightly before Maxwell's laws were discovered. If we advance a tiny fraction of the rate we did between 1860 and 2021, that asteroid should be be easy.
