Wow, this is... something

So scientists thought they detected phosphine in Venus's atmosphere, which is really weird since it's normally a biological metabolic product and no non-organic process was known to be able to produce the amount measured (this finding is now pretty questioned, ftr).

And so now this scientist (or maybe mostly this article writer) is baffled that they found phosphine in a biological metabolic product, since it's something found in Venus!

The last article I read on the phosphine finding said that the quantities originally found were a sampling error, and there isn't a significant amount of phosphine that would require special chemistry to produce.
